Pentax PCF V (20x60) Binocular

Pros: Excellent light gathering--Tripod mountable
Cons: Eye piece cap falls off

I spent a lot of time reviewing binoculars for quality star watching that were in my price range. With the reviews from other users I chose the Pentax 20x60's.
Took them to the 2002 Oregon Star Party, here is how it went:

Pros: Very good view, light.
Cons: for best views, you need a tripod /

I just bought the Pentax PCF V 20 x 60 binocular. I use it for
spotting planes flying over at high altitude (app. 30.000
ft and up) The clarity is fantastic, from 99% of the planes
I see, I can recognize model and airline.

Best viewings are with a tripod, but because the binocular
is very light, use from the hand is also very good.

It isn't cheap, but it offers value for money.
