Pros: touch screen Cons: Warranty is never valid, all repairs they claim are impact caused by users.
The touch screen was the selling feature for me, but the options are not user friendly or easily accessed. Some freezing occurred while using it as well. The large screen makes it impossible to see what image you have in your frame as the daylight ...

Pros: small size of camera, clarity of images, quick start up, large viewing screen Cons: glare on screen
I recently entered the world of digital cameras. Actually my husband entered it for me by purchasing the Pentax Optio T10 for my birthday present. He said he was tired of seeing all of the non developed film on my dresser top. I am not the most ...

Don't let the 3 inch touch screen fool you
by jimbass ,Mar 27 '07
Pros: Camera is small and the large 3 inch touch display is a big selling feature. Cons: Touch screen is apparently poorly made, and Pentax's warranty policy is geared against the customer.
I purchased the Pentax Optio T10 for my daughter for Christmas from Henry's in Toronto Ontario. The camera price was reasonable, 206.00, and the camera arrived in perfect shape with a full warranty. Within one month of using the camera, my daughter touched the screen and a spider web type crack appeared on the inside of the touch screen, and the battery immediately went dead. She emphatically told me that she had not bumped or dropped the camera. I sent the camera to a Pentax repair centre (14.00)in Vancouver BC, and they denied the claim. They were going to return the camera to me, but I contacted Pentax Canada and asked them to inspect the camera (28.00 shipping). Pentax Canada also denied the claim, stating customer caused impact, and quoted me a repair price of 234.00, more than I had paid for the camera. I have asked that the camera be returned to me, and now we do not have a camera and it has cost me 248.00

Buttons locked up
by dhilton3 ,Oct 19 '06
Pros: Small and stylish Cons: Camera locked up on the first day of use
I like the look and feel of this small digital camera. The 3 inch LCD touchscreen is great.
However, on the first day I used it all the buttons locked up. The power was on and the lens was extended but the LCD screen went blank and none of the buttons would respond. It would not turn off. I left it alone for about 15 minutes thinking it would turn itself off but it never did.
Finally I removed the battery even though the instructions say to never remove the battery while it is on. Left the camera alone all night and recharged the battery in the morning. Reinstalled the battery and it started working again. Phew!
Now I am kind of skittish about using this camera very much.

touchscreen eh?
by genebob ,Jul 25 '06
Pros: 6MP, good optics, intuitive menus Cons: near-impossible to use in bright sunlight
The touchscreen menu took a little getting used to, since my prior digicams used a traditional menu, but .. I like it! Except when I'm shooting in bright sunlight and I can't see the 3" LCD screen (there's no viewfinder). Otherwise, it's a great little 6MP camera!
