Pros: Good look and feel, can hit it high or low, decent distance Cons: Cannot move the ball from side to side
My father has been in the market for new, more forgiving irons for, well, for all his life. He has tried Callaway and before that he tried the Ping Zing's. However, he has never quite gotten to where he needs to be and continues to struggle mightily ...
Pros: Reliability and consistency, and everything in between. Ultimate customization. Cons: Maybe the higher price and the envy of you playing partners.
This Ping guys simply don't know when to stop. After the flawless I3+ irons that I loved so much, I figured they could never come up with a better set of irons, or at least one that offered significant improvements. Well, I was proved wrong once again. ...
Pros: Most forgiving clubs I have ever hit. Fun to hit. Cons: None
I play a lot of golf (over 100 rounds this year) and I was looking for a set of irons that were easier to hit both in terms of forgiveness and impact on my hands and arms. My Pro highly recommended the Ping G2 irons with the standard graphite shafts. He ...
Pros: Easy to hit the ball high and straight. Cons: Tough to hit any shot other than high and straight.
As a game enhancement club, the G2s deliver on their promise. They have a large sweetspot so less than good swings result in decent results. For those that want/need a higher ball flight, these clubs perform that function well. Just don't expect them ...
Pros: Ping custom fit. Easy to hit. Cushioned feel. Nice looking. Cons: A little harder to work the ball.
The Ping fitting service insures that your clubs will be custom built to your individual specifications. This fact alone helps to justify the price of these clubs. It does make a difference! The Ping G2's are very forgiving and easy to hit. They are nice ...
Pros: Can't get any better - it's not the clubs - it's you! Cons: Simply can't get used to the upright lie.
I'm 45 and have played golf since I was 10. I play from the blue tees and can reach all the holes in regulation with no problem. However, I rarely hit the green close to the hole and wanted to try some "top-of-the-line" clubs before I get to old to see ...
Pros: Forgivable, attractive looking irons Cons: Generably expensive, unless you are lucky enough to find a deal!
I recently found a steal of a deal on ebay for a used set of G2's...I got them for $369 and they are in near perfect condition with all matching serial numbers!! I wasn't really planning on buying a new set, but I couldn't pass that deal up! And now, I'm glad that I didn't! These clubs feel excellent off the fairway and are forgivable in every way. I'm not the most consistent golfer (I try to play every Saturday), but these clubs helped shave off about 8 strokes from the previous 2 times I played. I am usually a low 90's golfer, but I look to dive deep in the 80's and hopefully eventually in the 70's with these babies! The clubs also look really slick...I am high on aesthetics and these are "pretty" sticks. I have previously played with Ping Eye II's and have always been impressed by the PING performance. I hope to have these clubs for many years to come...
Well, I thought no iron could beat my Cobra ss-i irons on distance, feel, and accuracy and these did all three. I had been hovering in the mid 70's for quite some time, but now I've made it to scratch at last. These are truly explosive irons- they go straight high and long. They are definitely the longest I've ever hit. I purchased 5-PW green dot, with reg.steel true temper shaft. If you struggle with your irons these you should give try. Also, I'd like to mention another product I purchased, a book called Amazing Golf. It is a training manual I purchased in July 2005. It really has helped me be more consistent off the tee, and hit my irons a lot better. But most of all, it has helped my short game. Recently, I fired my best score ever, a 68, bogey free even. I purchased mine by emailing to: shoot_amazingolf@yahoo.com
PING G2 : 3,4 HL 5-W steel regular flex : for the 10 plus handicapper. by hazbuul ,Apr 25 '06
Pros: short irons throw darts, long irons fire cannon balls. Off center shots are harmless. Cons: tough to work for low fades and draws. People make GooGoo eyes at them.
I hit the G5s at a store last week; they are very good overall, but the G2s are superior..in both performance and value.
I played my first round with this set today. The short irons throw darts and the long irons fire cannon balls. Off center shots fly as straight and as high as the dead center bombs. Very little vibration, but tough to work these guys for low fades and draws.
Several beers could not waiver the straight and narrow delivery of these babies... I still hit it as accurately and precisely (being half in the bag) as I did on the first hole. I play this same course three times a week, and altogether, these clubs shaved about 3 strokes from my average score...( i walked home ).
Demo these clubs, especially the HL clubs. The 2 and 4 HL feel more like a 6 or a 7 iron, but they give true and consistent long iron distance..even for the single digit handicapper.
I recommend these clubs without reservation to the 10 plus handicapper, and the HL clubs to all golfers.
