Pros: Possibly the lightest helmet on the market, good protection Cons: Not worth the high price unless you are really into light weight
New Helmets, new brand There are a few new helmets hitting the shelves this year. Bauers 8000 has been a popular choice. The new Hefter is going to turn the helmet market upside down. RBKs 8K offers a number of changes in hockey helmets ...

Pros: Sleek, comfortable, customizable, a new benchmark. Cons: Uncomfortable strap and earloops.
I know the irony in the fact that my last helmet review about my old Nike 004 was titled 'The Greatest Helmet Ever Made', but after using the RBK, I must say that it deserves the title more. This helmet is the lightest helmets I've ever worn, and the ...

Overpriced and overrated
by stanesq ,Dec 01 '06
Pros: Looks nice Cons: very pricey, poor fit, questionable ability to diffuse a direct blow
First off, let me say this is a light helmet, there is no doubt about that and it does look good. Thats where the good news stops. I purchased this helmet for $170, which puts it right at the top of the food chain. In my opinion, this helmet is good for someone with an exceptionally wide head. The front to back fit was fine for me, but I found the helmet moving laterally. No amount of adjustment could get it right for me. I also took a couple of checks where my helmet contacted the boards. I felt a total transfer through the helmet and I got nice jolt. While it may have prevent concussions, I certainly felt more of the hit than I ever did in a CCM mid level helmet. This helmet is more hype than anything else in my opinion. Save your money, there are much better buys for the buck.

Sizing Issues
by cambec ,Apr 12 '07
Pros: Extremely light weight, very well made Cons: sizing of the small size is off
I have a 9 year old squirt with a 21" head. I purchased the small thinking that his head size would put him in the middle of the size, with room to get him through an additional year or two. The small helmet size was a horrible fit. When I pulled it out completely it still didn't fit him well. I went back and picked up a medium. When pushed to the smallest size, it fit him with a little wiggle room. The medium is sized to start at 21.5", which seems accurate. Once again, the small appears incorrectly sized. All in all, he loves this helmet!

RBK 8K Helmet
by cmacgregor19 ,May 03 '06
Pros: Comfort Cons: Price
I bought this helmet because it was on special with the RBK 8K skate and the fit is incredible. I love this helmet. The fit is just right and you can adjust it from the back. I find that it's a bit pricey if it isn't on special since it is the most expensive helmet on the market. It's a great looking helmet and it is the lightest on the market.

Reebok 8k Proved It's Worth
by mtkahockey ,Dec 14 '08
Pros: Great protection. Great fit. Adjustable fit. Looks cool. Reebok 8k Cons: Higher than average price.
Last night in a game I was tripped on a breakaway going full speed. I slid, head first, into the end boards. My head took the brunt of the blow. Fortunately I was wearing my 8k which protected me from sustaining a concussion. Even though it was higher priced than some of the other, lesser helmets, it was worth every penny. 5 stars
