Pros: good balance; strong yet lightweight; reasonably priced yet high-quality Cons: average saddle; shifting could be a little smoother
I bought this bike on clearance in late 2000, so I got it for 300 bucks. That alone made it a great deal, considering the high quality.

Pros: jsut about everything Cons: the rims
You won't get more bang for your buck then with a Raleigh M-80. The Shimano Deore group shifts pretty well except it tends to struggle getting into the biggest chainring. The Rockshoxx Jett XC fork is good for normal riding and absorbing small hits but...
