I bought the Ryobi Multi Tool for my husband for Christmas last year. I do not know that much about tools but I do know one thing, He loves it! I ordered it through Fingerhut for $129.99. I probably paid more for it than I would have if I bought it...
Pros: Variable speed, lots of bits, lots of power, reasonable priced Cons: hard to find Ryobi specific attachments.
I found this tool at Lowe's and it was on sale...a ridiculous sale. It was about $29 and you could get the accessory kit for about $13. Apparently they were discontinuing Ryobi in favor of Dremel. I took advantage of it and bought one for myself. I...
Pros: Very comfortable and easy to control Cons: I'd like a larger one for bigger jobs.
I bought the other brand of Multi-Tool and liked it. But when I misplaced it, I replaced it with the Ryobi. I have since found the other one but I think I'll put it in my wife's next yard sale.
The Ryobi seems to have more power but the main...
Pros: Durable, Versatile, Vibration Free Cons: No onboard wrench storage
I bought the Ryobi HT20vs after comparing it to similar models by other manufacturers. I chose it based upon price and feel. With some tools they just either "feel" right or they don't. The Ryobi just "felt" better than the other...
Pros: handy case, ease of use. Cons: cutoff wheels are cheesy
I asked for and received this tool for Christmas 2 years ago. Mainly because it was somewhat less money than the dremel brand. I have not used it too much but am glad to have it for my ' I'm sure I could fix this' days, and my 'jack of all trades ---...
Pros: Hundreds of uses and applications; carving to routing to sanding and more Cons: Switch gets gummed up sometimes
You know all those jokes about buying your spouse "useful" holiday gifts? Well, this one has a surprising twist...
A couple of years ago, my fiance insisted he was giving me a diamond for Christmas. Being a born skeptic, I was still kind...
Pros: light, quiet and good power Cons: early failure on two units
In February of 1999 I bought a Ryobi Multi Tool model HT20VS for my commercial wood carving shop. It was light, comfortable in the hand, seemed to have very good power at all speed settings, a good, fast tool-free chuck, and it was quiet.
Pros: easy to use; good value Cons: not enough attachments, need to buy extras
I bought my Ryobi tool because I am a crafter and I needed something to make sanding hard to reach areas easier. I do quite a bit of decorative painting and at times, I have complicated pieces with intricate shaping.
I am also disabled, so this...
I have had this particular tool for 3 years now and it still works like new. It is a great project finisher. The Ryobi multi tool can do many things. It can sand, rout, cut, polish, grind, and much more. This tool however does not have as many...
Pros: variable speed, fits dremel bits Cons: none for me
I bought the Ryobi variable speed multi tool to help me in sanding the little grooves in my antique doors that I was stripping. I bought the Ryobi instead of the Dremel because the price was much lower. Well, I couldn't be happier. The variable speed...

Pros: Comfortable, inexpensive, strong, and reliable. Cons: None
I've owned this particular rotary tool for over 8 years now. I initially purchased it because it was more comfortable ergonomically for me and I liked the speed adjustment switch. Cost was also a factor.
I use this tool for motorcycle head porting and everyday odd tasks. It has performed admirably in all conditions. It stays cool to the touch even during extended heavy use. It seems to have power comparable with other rotary tools.
I highly recommend this tool to anyone from novice to professional level. If you can, purchase the flex shaft extension - it really comes in handy.
