PaperPort 3100 USB is OK

Pros: Low cost, it works well Cons: A bit slow, no XP support, sw is a little tricky to learn
I bought one after I was solicited by email for $30 about five years ago. It has performed flawlessly for me (note that I followed the instructions). I have not done a lot of color on it but for b&w it has been fine.

If I had a supported operating system and wanted an inexpensive scanner, I would buy another one if mine broke.
