I needed some new speakers to replace my 5 year old ones salvaged from another computer, but I was in no real hurry. Saw an ad in the paper for these at Circuit City for $14.99, and figured its cheap enough even if the speakers suck. I was pleasantly surprised, because even though these speakers are nothing special, they are mare than adequate, and are a lot better than my old system. They don't go too loud, and are definitely not an excellent speaker, but are worth $15 if you can find them that low, but certainly not worth the $40 Circuit City usually charges.

Pros: Wooden base speaker box.
Cons: It doe's not help the sound of the cheap speaker that was placed in it.

These speakers were deliberately manufactured to look like flat panel speakers. They are not. They are a sham. There is no protection for the so called base speaker. It could easily be punctured. Don't waste your money on this junk. Buy a set of Altec Lansing AVS300 instead. They are less expensive and are of much better quality.

Pros: Volume control on satellite speakers, good sounding subwoofer, produces nice highs and lows.
Cons: Subwoofer is not magnetically shielded, no bass controls

These speakers are alright for your computer or game console, the sound quality I got was alright. But, the subwoofer isn't magnetically shielded (could ruin your PC if in contact with it), there's no bass control. There was an awful lot of cords which can get confusing, but overall this product was OK because it was a good price and it does it's job.
