Pros: Simple and fast, makes viewing your TV shows on the web the way to go. Cons: Remote video quality will depend on how fast your broadband connection is to internet.
The Big Idea Back in 2004, a new company startup called Sling Media opened their doors and began development on a product that would take the available tools and ideas that had been floating around the technology industry and poured them ...
Pros: Excellent quality and performance. Easy to set up and excellent compression/streaming technology. Cons: Integrating it into a little more complex home network can be challenging.
I purchased my Slingbox AV a few weeks ago and have been very impressed with its quality and performance. Out of the box, my first concern was that it only had inputs and no outputs. This means that there’s no way to pass the audio/video signal ...

Pros: Clear picture
easy setup
great price
Actually works Cons: No physical remote control
I bought this because my landlord wouldn't let me install cable. I figured I could use my parents extra cable box (which is 40 miles away)and hook my computer up to my TV and at least have something passable as television. But what I got was way better than passable, it is perfect.
Set up was super fast and easy, and I was easily watching their cable TV on my computer. When I hooked up my TV to my computer (via S-video) the picture got even better. It fills up the entire TV screen (27") and doesn't look much different from cable or satellite TV. The sound comes in clear and is in sync with the picture.
(Sometimes the sound takes a minute to catch up to the picture when you first turn sling box on)
The equipment I used was Verizon Fios Internet & Modem (parents house), Verizon DSL Modem w/ maximum internet speed, and a cheap old Dell Dimension PC with graphics card.
This exceeded my expectations and the best part is I get all their channels for free!
