Pros: Acceleration out of the hole, handling and Quality Cons: Docking, ruff water/ For hardcore skiing/wakeboarding none!
I recently purchased a 1999 Ski Nautique 196 (closed bow)w/the 5.8 engine with 145 hours on it. It now has 180 hours. It is an amazing ski boat. It pulls skiers out of the water with ease. I find it very comfortable to drive and the passengers are ...

Pros: Does everything a ski boat should... Cons: Not a boat for cruising, entertaining, camping, fishing, ocean going...
I grew up with ski boats. My family had a relationship with Evinrude that allowed us our pick of engines. Outboards, you'll notice. My brother and I skied constantly... until my parents divorced and the boat went away.
So from that point...

Pros: Very fast and great seating configuration Cons: expensive
My ski nautique boat is the fastest boat in the water on my lake. This boat has an inboard engine which has never had a problem in the three years I have owned this boat. This boat rides very low in the water at slow speeds. And when you accelarate the...

Air 206 Fuel Problems
by biffh1 ,Jun 15 '05
Pros: Beautiful boat with great wake Cons: Reliability an issue
After ordering up my 206 last November to my personal specs I finally took delivery Memorial weekend. I took first honors upon launching the boat and halfway through the second ball the engine quit. Restart was difficult and attempted to make it home but ultimately had to accept a tow from a Malibu. Attempted 2 more outings but the engine would make an incredible sucking noise and die. Definitely a fuel pump issue. The dealer responded immediately and retrieved the boat and inserted a new fuel pump and put 6 hours on the boat to ensure reliability. Redelivery took place on June 10 2005 and I put the boat in the water the next morning. Halfway through the course on the first ski the engine died again. Same symptoms and had to undergo another humiliating Malibu tow. I have less than 30 minutes of time on this boat (dealer has 6 hours). The response from both PCM and CorrectCraft has been less than impressive. Fingers are pointing in different directions. I am not enjoying this movie and the endgame is rather blurry. I seek advice and counsel.

The Nautiques
by lakeboy ,Jan 02 '04
Pros: everything is awsome. Cons: i have none.
This is an awsome boat. I own 1. It is made with the best quality materials. It is better quallity than any other ski boat. It might not look as good asa some but i think it looks better. It is great performance and you might have some consernes like the gas milage, but all inboards are the same. They are exelent prices too compared to the compeditors. Even if it is 1000 dollars or so more, it is worth it with no question. It might not have have the best cosmetics but that isnt what the ski model is made for. If u r lookin 4 cosmetics. view the other models. They with have just as good of performance. it is a 1995 that i have and puchased it in 1997 but drive my neighbors new ones. Same performance, new cosmetics. Just not great on really rogh waters like any other inboard.

1975 Ski Nautique - Masterpiece
by delhiski ,Dec 27 '04
Pros: Runs and runs. Like a labrador chasing a ball, it will never quit.... Cons: No rough water. Get a pontoon if you drink lattes and want a slow cruise!!
I have owned this boat for 10 years. I have four children and they have all learned to Ski, barefoot, knee board and Wakeboard behind this boat. I have made thousands of runs with this boat and it never acts tired. Sure it drinks a little gas but you would too after sprinting and stopping, sprinting and stopping all day. This company has made the best boat in the world, and yes I am talking about a 30 year old boat!!!!!!!
I have provided a little maintenance, oil change, a bent prop, new plugs I guess that's it. Not bad in 10 years. If you have a desire to own the best, buy the best. I paid 5200$ for it 10 years ago, and I know I could get 4500$ today. Talk about holding value...in fact I am thinking about restoring it , and keeping for the rest of my life. The boat has a Harley like sound that is music to my ears. In fact everyone on the lake comments on I know you are coming by the sound of your boat. That is a true masterpiece!!
