Pros: Ease of use. Programmed shots. Steaming. Large water reservoir. Cons: Recovery time. Light weight. Cup storage.
After purchasing a good quality coffee grinder, you'll need a good espresso machine that will teach you - rather than frighten you - when making your first espressos. The SL90 fits the bill and makes excellent Americanos and fairly decent espresso if ...

SOLIS SL-90 a standout in it's class...
by waikiki ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: Pretty, easy to use, rugged Swiss-made, perfect expresso FAST..... Cons: Having to remember to do a 2 sec "burp" it prior to making coffee...
SOLIS SL-90 is a standout in it's class... Check around the web -- coffeegeeks.com or wholelottalatte.com. Very highly reviewed causing me to find & buy a new one on eBay for $349. To say I am pleased is an understatement. Having used a Krups Expresso maker for 3 yrs., I find myself labeling the Krups output undrinkable. It is not broken, but after tasting the output from the Solis, I cannot go back. With a 3L water supply, fully automated operation, the Solis is a dream to use, with a clean, fresh perfect expresso in about 3-4 minutes. The steamer will blow you across the kitchen, or make rich creamy foam quickly. Highest recommendation!
