I did not use my ICD-MS1 often but soon after warranty expired it could not record any more. It can still play music in the Memory Stick so I convert sound files to MSV files and download them to Memory stick and use my ICD-MS1 as a music player. A pair of AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries can last about 3 hours if the volume is turned to maximum.
