Pros: Durable, easy to use Cons: Bulky, no MPEG sound
The Mavica FD100 is the second digital still camera I've owned. I've been using this camera almost daily for 2 1/2 years and have never had a single problem. This camera has been dropped down stairs, been wet from rain and has been toted around ...
Pros: Ability to view photos directly on T.V. Ability to use floppy disks for film Cons: Large size, awkward to carry, viewfinder can washout in sunlight
I have now owned this camera for over two years, so this is long term use review. Even if you've never owned or used a digital camera before this one is intuitive and simple to use right out of the box as a point-and-shoot. As you become more familiar ...
Pros: Option to store on either floppy or memory stick. Cons: Haven't found one yet.
First let me tell you buying this was a no-brainer for me. I already own a FD-87 and would have bought another one if I could have found one. Dont get the wrong idea, theres nothing wrong with the FD-87. Its just that we...
Pros: Easy to use. Can hold a lot of great quality pictures, Cons: A little bulkier then some of the smaller ones, memory cards are a little pricey.
This light weight camera is the best and has come WAY down in price from when I got it for my classroom. It is easy to use, and is very versatile even for the technology illiterate
It has a nice viewer on the back with simple buttons to make...
Pros: Lightweight. Floppy Disk or Memorystick. Good battery life. Cons: Poor flash coverage. Shutter delay
I purchased this camera because I was going on a trip to mainland China and I didn't want to lug a 35mm camera with me and have to worry about purchasing and developing all those canisters of film upon my return. I also knew that I would be taking a lot...
Pros: Super Easy and Fun to Use. Excellent pix. Cons: None
If you thought a Polaroid was fun and easy, the FD100 puts you into the digital age effortlessly. Most people can use this camera right out of the box. Because it is so basically intuitive, with menus on the BIG LCD display, you get a feeling right...
Pros: Great entry level camera with pro features. Cons: None I have found.
The Mavica FD100 is a very good entry level camera with more than enough features to make a user happy. At 1.2 megapixels, it is NOT a super high resolution camera, but most users do not need the high resolution offered by more expensive cameras. The...
Pros: Can use floppy disks instead of having to download your pictures Cons: none
I got this camera from my husband for my birthday. I love this camera. I could not ask for more. This camera has it all. Zoom, flash, red eye, and a lot more extras that I still haven't read about.

Best Bang for the Buck!
...You get Sony quality optics...
...No cords to remember to bring when you travel or fool with when downloading your pics...
...Easy cheap recording media--floppy diskettes! (No darn expensive and easy-to-lose memory sticks)
...Too big to forget leaving it in your coat or pants pocket!
I have used this camera for 4 years in a wide variety of conditions. It has not given me a moment's problem. The size of the camera is larger than most, but I have not found that to be a drawback. Actually, it stabilizes and helps you take blur-free pictures and I have never "forgotten" where it is!
excellent pictures and easy storage options by melindakiah ,Dec 21 '03
Pros: excellent quality, low price, can use floppy disks to store pictures Cons: I haven't found one as yet
We really wanted a digital camera but didn't have a lot of money. We looked around online and in stores for quite some time. We felt the option of storing photos on a floppy disk, as well as the option to use a memory stick was wonderful. We bought it and took it to a live event that night. We were quite far away from the action, but with the zoom, our pictures look like we were very, very close. The picture quality from this camera is excellent. No complaints whatsoever. One thing we really enjoy is the viewfinder window. It allows us to see what the picture will look like. It is also great to be able to see what your picture looks like after you take it so that if you aren't happy with it, you can take another one.
Wow - I am back in business again! by mftx ,Sep 22 '03
Pros: Everything Cons: None.
After owning a Sony Mavica for years - I knew they were an incredible product. When after years of use, it needed repair - I bought a Vivitar to get me through until it was ready. I never realized how truly spoiled I was with the Mavicas. They are top of the line. I returned the Vivitar and bought this Mavica FD100. It is easy to use & takes crystal clear shots close up & distance. I love that it uses floppy disks or memory stick. I am also a huge fan of the lithium batteries vs. AAs. I highly encourage anyone considering this camera to buy it. You wont go wrong.
