A Ball That Performs as Advertised
by peenbo ,Jun 03 '08
Pros: The softest, spinniest 2 piece I have played. Cons: Damages easily
These are the softest cover 2 piece ball that I have played. It spins off wedges and irons like no other 2 piece I have played. Not as spinney as a urethane 3 piece spin ball, but these do carry a 2 piece price. They are spinney enough to handle all but the firmest greens.
These have also produced respectable distance for me. They do feel a little on the mushy side off the driver, but not as much as you would think given the softness of the cover. The core apparently is reasonably hard. It goes fine off the T, my swing speed runs 105-110mph.
You can feel the soft cover with chips and puts, it is fairly muted. It is quite spinney off chips and short pitches for a 2 piece ball. The soft cover is easy to damage however, I've put some decent dings in it with a wedge, and a cart path landing can inflict some pretty deep dings.
