Pros: Cool detailed miniature villages Cons: Boring, no music
Although I have been going to Disneyland since before I can remember, it is very rare that I go on the Storybook Land Canal Boats, located in Fantasyland. On a recent trip to Disneyland, we decided to invest in the wait time to go on a ...
Pros: Gentle ride, no height restrictions. Cons: Boring narration, blah scenery, no Disney magic, horrible waiting area.
When we first visited Disneyland, I was intrigued by the Storybook Land Canal Boats because there is no equivalent ride in the Florida parks. Going on a Disney ride for the first time is usually exciting because you don't know what to expect. From ...
Pros: great for gardeners and the very youngest guests Cons: long lines, not handicapped accessible
The Storybook Land Canal Boats hearken back to the early days of Disneyland history, when Walt was alive and could be seen daily wandering the park. While I was born too late to ever run into him there, one of earliest memories is enjoying this ride with ...
Pros: Meticulous detail, interesting landscaping, fun (if tame) boat ride, classic Disney locations... Cons: One annoying cast member ruined the whole show.
I hadn't ever been to Disneyland before. Neither had my two sons, aged 3 and 6. My wife has, but it's been more than a decade since she was last there. So I was looking forward to the rides--even the "kiddie rides," because I never got to go on them ...
Pros: Cute boat ride. It's a journey into a miniature world from famous Disney movies. Cons: Perhaps it should lose the talking tour guide and add music from the movies.
I have been an annual pass holder for years and have never been on this ride until last night. I was drawn to Storybook Land last night because I noticed a "mini castle" from the top of the Matterhorn. Determined to find this mysterious castle I figured it was either in Storybook Land or Autopia. Since there is not a version in Florida, I always passed it by without a second thought. I figured it was for kids and would not be fun for me if I didn't have nostalgic memories of it.
I was wrong. It was a great ride that even seemed nostalgic to me, even though I have never been on it. It is a very fun ride at night because all the miniature houses, villages and castles have tiny lights in them.
However, I was at the park on a week night in January. The line moved very quick. Other reviews mentioned that the line was pure torture. It was not for me, but I don't know how long I would be willing to wait for this ride. Maybe 15 minutes.
