The Existential Joys of the Mormon Bible

by bilavideo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 25 '05
Pros: interesting stories, great speeches, fascinating symbolism
Cons: not to be taken at face value, requires judgment and common sense
I find it amusing to see the Book of Mormon listed on epinions, but not as amusing as the "ratings divide" between "true believers" and "infidels." Those who accept its supernatural claims are quick to give it two thumbs up. Those who doubt those ...

A slightly different take on a controversial read.

by Truerelic , Aug 08 '06
Pros: Quite an epic read, some very good lessons for life.
Cons: Scriptural style, is it true scripture or fraud?
I’ve had to think long and hard about this review, mainly because the topic is so unique and potentially controversial. In looking at all the other reviews, it has become clear to me that they are all missing the point. What is the point in reviewing ...

Another Testament of Jesus Christ

by cropperb , Oct 19 '06
Pros: Helps one to draw nearer unto Christ. Contains gospel of Christ.
Cons: none
The Book of Mormon The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture comparable to the Bible. It is not however a sequel to or part of the actual Bible. It is the history of the people on the American Continent written by ancient Prophets, and serves as ...

Scripture or Wholly Fraud?

by BrokeASkag , Apr 25 '02
Pros: A manual for happy living and an interesting read.
Cons: Some may object to the outdated use of Old English, akin to the KJV.
The Book of Mormon claims to be a second witness of Jesus Christ, a partner to the Holy Bible, and companion to the weary soul. Whether that claim is verifiable is in my opinion relative. It clearly depends on your basis of verification. One might...

The Book of Mormon - Scripture Comparable to The Bible?

by j-dizzle , Apr 30 '07
Pros: It's an interesting book with many different stories that can be related to our own.
Cons: The Question of whether the book is fact or fiction
The Book of Mormon claims to be another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of God’s dealings with the people that lived on the ancient Americas. It is considered by it’s believers as another book of scripture comparable to the Bible. However, ...

There are really only two reactions to the Book of Mormon...

by exmish , Jul 25 '01
Pros: Another Testament of Jesus Christ
Cons: None
The following is a joint commentary by Rob and Shannon Watson: There are really only two reactions people have to the Book of Mormon. People either reject it outright or they accept it wholeheartedly. For those who reject it outright, it is ...

The Book of Mormon

by msono , Apr 12 '05
Pros: Wonderfull story, more entertaining than the bible.
Cons: Not as long as the bible.
This is my second attempt at writing a review for the Book of Mormon. I wrote my first review about a year ago and it was torn apart by the critics on epinions and was never able to be read by the general populous. They were more critical of my review ...

The Book of Smith, aka The Book of Mormon

by martinscholes , Mar 09 '02
Pros: Contain many quotes from the Bible
Cons: A work of fiction with a religious bias
Fraud or mistaken, the Book of Mormon is a book steeped in question and from a dubious history.

It is important to understand that the Book of Mormon has been changed many times over the years since it was first published.

And this...

A Great Book for All.

by jakem_56 , Jan 23 '07
Pros: Teaches us to become better people.
Cons: Sometimes is hard to understand
When everyone thinks of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints they think of the Mormons. The Mormons got that name from a book called the Book of Mormon. In the Mormon Church they read both the Bible and the book of Mormon. The Church ...

A book that will change your life
by shaunzie ,Dec 11 '05
Pros: Amazingly moving and truthful
Cons: None!
Many people may be apprehensive about picking up a copy of this book. They might be hindered by what they've heard or seen. But, the best way to find out about something is try it for yourself. I did, and this book has changed my life. It's full of great messages that are sure to inspire any reader. If it is read with the wrong intentions or a great amount of doubt, then its words will be lost to you. But, if it is read with real meaning, then you'll see why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints considers it to be such a central part of their religion.
