Spring is in the Air

by strategery Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 21 '02
Pros: A complete golf ball that combines distance, durability, and feel.
Cons: Performs best for the better golfers, but still fun for the rest of us !

The trees are budding, the birds are chirping and springtime is in the air. The shadowy Punxsutawney Phil and his six more weeks of winter not withstanding, I'm ready to put on a sweater and play some golf. The shoes are cleaned and polished and...

Is This Ball Still the Best, Or a Great Father's Day Gift

by hwz1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jun 12 '00
Pros: Feel, durable, long, a total ball
Cons: The Professional is expensive
One thing most golfers will tell you is that have to play a good ball. I do not care if you ask a 36 handicap or a scratch golfer, they will tell you that they want to play a good ball. I am not sure of the reason except that they see the pros changing...

Do Not Even Think About Purchasing These Balls Unless....

by hwz1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Dec 03 '01
Pros: Great feel, distance, and spin
Cons: Expensive
Are you completely nuts to be paying close to $50 for a dozen golf balls that will likely reside in the bottom of a pond in a matter of two or three rounds on the links? Hmmm, good question and one that you will have to answer for yourself. What I can...

Does *not* live up to expectations

by duffman72 , Oct 17 '00
Pros: Durable, soft feeling golf ball that has a lot of distance.
Cons: Too expensive, and it doesn't produce enough spin.
According to the box, the Titleist Professional 100 is supposed to "surpass the current industry standards of a balata." I have no clue as to where or how they came up with that quote. The Titleist Professional, as far as I am concerned is...

The Best, If You Can Afford It.

by DiscreteOne , Nov 14 '00
Pros: Superior Performance
Cons: Expensive
This is the premier ball in tournament golf today. Just look at the PGA Tour and see how many of the best players in the world choose it. I believe that Titleist has taken the Tour Balata and just made it better with the 'Professional'.

A Better Option is The Precept

by hwz1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Nov 01 '99
Pros: Feel, price,
Cons: availability
This past summer I began playing a new ball- the Precept Extra Spin- after playing The Titleist Professional for a number years. As a scratch golfer, I am cognizant of the differences between types of golf balls and the feel that is associated with...

One of the Best Golf Balls on the Market

by cgbruin , Jun 09 '00
Pros: Good distance and feel, helps putting
Cons: Expensive, might make you afraid to lose the ball
I took up golf not too long ago, by golfing standards. I bought a very inexpensive set of clubs and hit the driving range. As I developed more experience, I began to notice the difference that a particular ball offered me. Mind you, I found my...

Hail to the KING, baby...

by Sir_Hacksalot Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 31 '00
Pros: Does it all
Cons: Kind of pricey
If you are looking for the ulimate golf ball, then look no further than the Titleist Professional.

Off the tee, the Professional is as long as any ball I've hit. It is about 5-10 yards less than the XL2000 Super Titanium and other rock hard...

Titleist Hacker 100's is more like it.

by dollabills2000 , Nov 15 '00
Pros: good off putter
Cons: scratches or scuffs easy, not as long
Someone please tell me where the logic comes in. Now I'm a very avid golfer, and i know quite a bit about the game and the equipment. Where do these people get off selling a dozen golf balls for almost 60 bucks. I have played these balls before, and i...

Great all-around ball

by ar_colorado , Mar 28 '02
Pros: Feel, spin, control, great around greens
Cons: price, durability
I was playing cheap Top-Flite balls and smacked them a mile, but when it came to the short game I was always having problems figuring out how much (or little) mustard I needed to put on the ball to put it where I wanted it.

I thought I might...

Cream of the Crop

by shammonji , Nov 11 '99
Pros: exceptional feel; more durable than Titleist Tour balatas
Cons: price tag
Simply put, I've never played with a better golf ball.

The Professionals have the nice, soft feel of a balata. They are great to chip and putt with around the green, and are plenty soft enough to hold most greens on longer iron shots. Further,...

My 2 cents for a $5.00 ball

by balttrader , Aug 30 '01
Pros: Its a Professional Ball....they don't make them better than this
Cons: We are not Professionals....So we shouldn't hit Professional balls
I'm so unimpressed with this Titleist ball I had to share it with everyone. Its is a great ball if you look at the statistics of the composition, but who can use it?

This ball was released mainly because of the lawsuit that Nike was involved...

Can't really go to wrong with Titleist... Except with the price

by Hunkules , May 29 '01
Pros: Great feel, great into greens, pretty good distance
Cons: expensive, not very durable
I'm fairly new to golf. I actually started half-way through last year and I'm sixteen years old. I started working at our local course halfway through last year and that's why I started golf, because it was free for me:-). I'm gradually getting better...

Best Ball in Golf

by Moller , Jun 02 '00
Pros: great feel
Cons: bit pricy
I purchased the Titleist Professional golf balls seeking feel, distance, and accuracy....and guess what? I got what I wanted. I love the feel of this golf ball. It always feels like pure butter! This ball fits my style of play because it exaggerates...

Not for everybody

by HappyGilmore1 , Jan 26 '00
Pros: Durability, feel, distance off tee
Cons: expensive
The Titleist Professional is in my opinion the best ball out on the market. The Professional is an expensive ball that demands good ball striking. It is a great ball and would work for anyone, but I would only recommend this ball to the serious golfer....
