Pros: Large & Stylish Rooms, Great Bathrooms, Comfy Beds, Great Pool Area Cons: Overly Styled Public Areas, Lacking a Full Service Restaurant, Prozac Addicted Staff

Pros: Almost boutique-like in its trendiness but spacious, comfortable and friendly. Perfect for business travelers. Cons: Food.
The W Silicon Valley Suite Hotel is one of my preferred hotels when I am traveling to the Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Santa Clara area. Though the name of the hotel implies to a large degree that it is located in the center of the Silicon Valley, it is ...
Pros: Reasonable room prices, spacious lobby, nice rooms, free parking Cons: Average service, bad location, no view
The W Hotel Silicon Valley is one of the most spacious W’s I’ve ever stayed at, but doesn’t have the unique hipness and style that the downtown locations do. Rooms The standard rooms are a very nice size and seem to be about 30% larger than ...
Worst W I've ever stayed at by catcherchase ,Oct 05 '08
Pros: Proximity to Silicon Valley. probablly better than Motel 8. Cons:
Shabby upkeep and poor service.
Just checked out after a two night stay and I gotta tell you, if you really like the W brand, which I do, then make the trip to SF. This one sucks. It's more of a glorified Courtyard by Marriott then what you'd expect.
Very shabby rooms, big loud air con, big old style TV which had a lot of static thanks to the huge aircon, the gym was a joke. Only one treadmill and it was so old it looked like it came out of a Russian high school gym in the 50's.
Lastly, they were severly understaffed. When I could find someone the service was just average, they said the right platitudes but the feeling was not genuine. You could tell they would much rather be somewhere else.
Advice to management - stop being so cheap! spend some money on refurbishing the place, hire some new better staff and train them properly.
W Suites Newark - a strange oasis of comfort and luxury... by monkeychick333 ,Apr 29 '04
Pros: Bed Cons: ?? location, I guess
My boyfriend and I live in the bay area, and decided that it would be fun to stay in this hotel as a sort of "getaway", and indeed, it was. I'm used to San Francisco (where I live) and he's used to Berkeley (where he lives) and I would align the city of Newark to that of Bakersfield or somewhere else in the central valley. It may sound strange, but it was kind of nice. Basically, we spent all day lounging at the pool (which was quite fabulous with nice comfy lounges and sand to dig your toes into and nicely, the pool was heated). The rooms are above average as far as comfort and style - the beds are unsurpassed. The linens and featherbed provided the most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had (which is true with all W Hotels- reason enough to stay there) and I took advantage of the whatever-whenever feature more than once (they happily bring up more Aveda products if you ask...I reccommend this -- this is good stuff).
So, although Newark is sort of in the middle of nowhere, if you're like me, you might enjoy it.
