I like my Whirlpool Duet Washer Model GHW9100LW

by baybrat , Feb 07 '03
Pros: Washes clothes better less water, energy, cleaners, wash almost anything any size
Cons: Price ; technology so new that retail distributors are often clueless about it.
This is my first front-loading washer. I have the 9100 (without a heater, and not blue plastic in front, mine is beige). We bought it last fall at our Lowes, on sale $799, and also bought 5 additional years of warranty service, something I never usually...

I like doing Laundry!!

by lmgregorio , Feb 24 '03
Pros: Huge capacity, saves water & detergent, great job with washing
Cons: Expensive and you will want to get the dryer too - so about $2K
I bought the Whirpool Duet Washer and Dryer, model 9100, in Dove Gray and I am very happy with it. There is one model, the 9200, that costs about $300 more and has more options. I actually tried to buy that one but couldn't find it anywhere and decided...

Am I Mad?? I now love to do laundry!

by djcruella , Dec 16 '02
Pros: Quiet wash cycle, efficient use of water, detergent
Cons: Expensive as compared to top loaders
We recently purchased this Whirlpool Duet washer (GHW9100LW) in Dove gray. I've been comparing front loading washers for some time now and the Whirlpool was the winner.

I wanted a front load washing machine for several reasons.

1....

Great concept, is it worth wasting $900 in hopes of getting a good one?

by mrabbit , Oct 05 '05
Pros: It holds a lot and has a lot of great features BUT...
Cons: Mildews, high maintenance, expensive washer & detergent, shakes and makes noise. $1,000 in the dump.
I own the duet washer and I have nothing but negative to say about this machine. I bought this washer because it washes bigger loads than a top load washer. It washes bigger loads but doesn't save me time when I have to rewash because of the ...

Stay away from the WHIRLPOOL GHW9100L - the DUET!

by ssea , Jan 30 '04
Pros: Largest tub of any front loaders that I looked at;will accommodate large items easily.
Cons: Numerous problems - Worse that clothes won't get clean if they are really dirty.
Front loading automatic washer that uses little water. But does that little bit of water and type agitation motion really get clothes clean? NOT in the machines I used! 1. Tub size is great- very big. But I found if you filled it to capacity, even ...

It's worth every penny and beats the stock market too!

by beltrams , Feb 15 '04
Pros: Cleaner clothes, quick drying, major $ saved for those on city water/sewer
Cons: Requires some $$ up front to save $$$$ in the end
Folks, what all the other reviewers' comments say about how great this machine is at cleaning clothes due to the extra fast extraction is absolutely true. Less residue, softer, fresher towels, quicker drying, etc. It's almost worth the extra $600 over ...

by billygirl , Jan 07 '04
Pros: clothes are clean and very fluffy, they smell wonderful
Cons: cost
Well - we took the plunge. We read and read and read epinions and other reviews about the duet. We frequented all the stores looking at what would be the best piece of equipment for our family. I was on a first name basis with the folks at Best Buy. ...

Duet Washer- Worst Investment I've Ever Made

by hallmartin , Aug 25 '04
Pros: stainless steel tub
Cons: expensive, doesn't clean clothes, can't wash large or very small loads
When I read positive reviews on this washer, It's hard to believe they aren't fronts for the company because my experience has been so different. This washer when used the way it's supposed to, does not get my clothes even close to clean. There is so ...

A Lot of Machine, A Lot of Money

by adhack , Aug 01 '03
Pros: Load capacity, styling, quiet wash cycle, gentle on clothes, efficiency
Cons: Price, Cost of Repair, Will Vibrate on Wood Floor
I have had this washer for one week, so this is the preliminary review and let's say in the "Buyer's Remorse" period of the owning experience. The main feature I looked for in a new washing machine was the ability to wash a king-size comforter. I ...

Washing Clothes Has Gotten Entertaining

by lartacg , Mar 09 '03
Pros: Futuristic looking, washes great, energy saver.
Cons: Large Window a Scratch Target. Stacking w/ the Duet Dryer is uneven
My wife and I were so excited when we received our Whirlpool duets. You can't help but stare at these units the first time you saw them on the showroom floor. They look like TV sets. And we pretty much sat in front of the washer when we first did our...

by tra2seven , Feb 01 '05
Pros: Load size, alarm settings, pedestal availability
Cons: holes left in clothes, bad customer service, constant repair problems, very expensive
My husband and I decided to make this purchase based on the fact that it looked sturdy and had a large capacity. We have had nothing but problems since purchasing it. I've made numerous calls to Whirlpool and had many visits by repair men. ...

by msbrown777 , Sep 11 '03
Pros: It is efficient, quiet, flexible in its settings and gets my clothes very clean!
Cons: The tray for the detergent, bleach and fabric softener is small, but manageable.
We had a Kenmore washer that finally gave out after buying it used 12 years ago. We wanted to go "big" since we have twins now. We have had this washing machine for a month now and it is awesome! We purchased it at Sears since it was the closest to our ...

by fromellen , Jun 02 '03
Pros: Super quite washer and dryer, nice looking set
Cons: pricey, vibrates on spin on my machine. I dont think it was leveled correct when installed.
I have been waiting for a week as Sears had these on back order. I was really excited when they arrived today. First let me say, I originally ordered the kemore calypso. Researched it later and was torn between trying it or canceling. Some people...
