Excellent all around vehicle

Pros: Very roomy interior, engine is fairly quiet as diesels go, high MPG, diesel longevity.
Cons: Poor acceleration off the line, hard to find experienced Mercedes mechanics depending on the area.
I believe my 1992 300D is an overall excellent car. The pickup off of the line is a little sluggish, but once you get those RPMs up, you can really feel the power of the 2.5L diesel. I've had mine well over 100mph and it feels like you are cruising along at around 60. Very comfortable and intuitive interior, smooth and classic exterior. Handling is excellent for a relatively heavy car. I like to know that if I get into a crash with a newer vehicle, I'll likely win. I get anywhere from 35-40 miles to the gallon, and diesel is usually cheaper than unleaded. Not bad to insure, either, at least in my area. Again, an overall excellent car if it has been taken care of.
