Pros: Style, reliability, easy power (GT-four), something a bit different! Cons: Head gaskets (GT-four especially), fuel consumption could be better. Too many thrashed examples. The Bottom Line: Get one if you're sure it's a good one. If it needs things doing straight away, walk. They'll multiply.
I've owned six of this generation of Celica now - including two JDM GT-fours. So I have an idea what I'm speaking about. All my ST182 Celicas were powered by the 2.0 3S-GE engine - and I believe that anything smaller wouldn't be up to the job. It is ...

Pros: Better handling, quality, and style than Amer. sportscar. Cons: Clutch went at 125,000 miles (I work it hard). The Bottom Line: Buy this car! It's fast, reliable, and real good on gas...even at 130,000 miles!
When I was 18, I bought a '93 GT-S with 82K on it for 6500 bucks. My friends (big GM lovers) thought I was crazy for buying something with "so many miles on it and so old." Come to find out, they were just used to their American cars "with American horsep ...

Pros: Great little car Cons: Pay a little more for the name
Coming from a background of a middle income family and a father who seemed to know everything about everything, I have had the opportunity to do my share of automotive up-keep. My first car was a 67'Mustang, second a Honda Civic CRX, and lately a 93'...

Pros: FLAWLESSLY DEPENDABLE, gas mileage, handling, affordability, style Cons: road noise, plexiglas dash glass, dome light The Bottom Line: UNBEATABLE. As a dependable, economic, "sporty" commuter car or first vehicle for a teenager, look no further.
I bought a new '93 Toyota Celica ST (with the 1.6 L 4 cyl. engine) as my first car 9 years ago. 97,500 miles later, I have not had to take it to a shop for a major repair, it runs wonderfully, and I still regularly get 34-36 mpg.
I spent a...

Pros: beautiful, reliable, not too costly Cons: not for BIG families
I bought a 1993 Celica GT in January of 1998. This was honestly the best vehicle purchase I have ever made! I love the sporty way it handles without the ridiculous cost of a true "sports car." Very tight steering, no swaying around corners,...

Pros: Looks nice, reliability, handling Cons: acceleration (ST 1.6 liter), back seats The Bottom Line: Excellent first car and pretty reliable.
I got this car as my first car. i bought it from some guetto dealership in wheeling that didn't give me any help trying to sell me the car. I actually found it as I was leaving the dealership after MANY pathetic tests from other toyotas and hondas, I saw ...

Pros: Quiet Interior Cons: The wheels are to low
The Toyota Celica's bulbous shape makes a distinctive design statement. The Celica's gently rounded, almost pudgy look speaks volumes to people who said the Toyota styling was as bland as a saucer of egg whites. But when the Toyota stylists redrew the...

Pros: Reliable, high resale value Cons: Red paint fades without lots of wax
Well, I guess nothing is really completely free. But, the great little Celica GT comes as close as any car does. I helped my daughter buy one brand new in the summer of 1993. She drove it, hard, for five years, at college, to work and back and forth...

Pros: Runs Great Cons: Looks LIke a spaceship
I currently own a 93 Toyota Celica--I love it! There are so many good features about it, it runs good, good miles, good gas mileage-so cheaper gas for me! I just saw a commercial for the 2000 Celicas--woah! Space age I think! It is probably a great car...

Pros: Very Reliable!! Cons: Back Seat not for big people.
I bought this car in September 2004 with 215,000 kms on the original engine, and as soon as I bought it i got the engine looked at by my mechanic, and there were no signs of anything that needed to be replaced, or repaired. These cars do not rust easy(as i can tell), and they seem to be super reliable, so reliable in fact that it has never left me HAVING to go to the repair shop, and it has never left me stranded. It is mid 2005, and i have already put 30,000 kms. on the car(travelling), and the Celica just keeps on going, I won't have to ever worry about this car getting me home, because it will. I have the 2 door hatchback model, it is not made for large people in the back seat, but it is still a roomy car. The engine has lots of power for a 2.2 L, and i see only good things coming from this car. It is the best purchase I have ever made!

Pros: Reliable, Good Power, fuel economy Cons: room in vehicle
This is a amazing little car! I purchased this car in June of 2005 with 63,000 kms on it and i have put on 58,000 since then(18 months) and i have had no trouble at all. I purchased it from original owner and he never had any major problems! This car proves to be very reliable and handles well! The only complaint on my behalf is that there is not enough room inside. If you are looking into buying this kind of car you sure have my vote!!!

Pros: Dependable, Stylish, Perfect Cons: small back seat, tough ridin in winter
Sleek, and stylish, coolest looking car i'll ever have =( yeah, some things were wrong with it, but all stuff that i broke myself or that i could live with out anyways. little things like the dome light or gas light were a little messed up, but no big deal. I bought this car because Toyotas are supposed to run forever and it probably would have if I wouldn't have totalled it. =( It was VERY dependable for me and i wish i still had it. Used alot of oil, but not much gas. i really recommend these cars to everyone. Including me again. Obviously I'm very sad about losing it because it just happened a week ago, but that should tell you something about the car, huh?
