Pros: Solid, comfortable, practical. This is the real deal! Cons: Rear jumpseats rattle when folded up, 2nd row bench angles up at the sides. The Bottom Line: I high-quality vehicle that can be purchased for far less than its actual value.
Bought one used with 78k miles. I drive very little (except for trips to the great outdoors), so the (supposedly) expensive repair/maintenance and gas bills won't be a problem for me. This was a significant consideration, since I hate spending money on...

Pros: Good off road, nice car (luxury wise), few repairs Cons: under powered, repairs are expensive
I bought a '94 LS new, it was great price, and has been a descent car for the entire length of ownership. It came well equipped for the money. Good off road and in bad weather, but underpowered. It has lasted well with few major repairs needed....

People today are driving faster and paying less attention so safety is a major concern. I have owned a 1994 Montero and a 1995 Montero. My 1994 was replaced because I had the unfortunate opportunity to hit a full grown male buffalo (approx 2000 lbs)...
