Pros: Good gas mileage, reliable engine, cheap to maintain, easy to drive and park. Cons: Spartan interior, 12oz cup holders, and weak AC in high temps. The Bottom Line: A good basic daily commuter subcompact car with a reliable engine and 30 to 40 mpg.
I bought this little four door sedan Metro LSi off the Chevy dealers lot brand new back in 1998. I was really desperate since my first car was a used 1980 Ford Grand Marquis that was literally falling apart and costing way too much money to maintain. I ...

Pros: Gas Mileage, Price, Size Cons: Size, Power, Longevity
I bought my 98 Chevy Metro used in may 99 with only 1500 miles on it. Black, manual trans, no a/c, the basest of base models. I live in northern california where gas is pushing $2 a gallon and my Mustang is a gas hog so I needed a cheap commuter car....

Pros: Very cheap and affordable Cons: Very uncomfortable with an infant carseat in the back.
My husband and I purchased our 1998 two door Chevy Metro in the Spring of 1998. We were tickled pink to get this car being that we were a young married couple on a tight budget. For the first year our Metro was a hit! It is never thirsty for gas....We...

Pros: GREAT on mileage, affordable car, zippy styling, has needed only rgular maintenance Cons: Munchkin-size cupholders, not destined to win any races against Greased Lightening or anything
Let me begin by saying that I purchased my 1998 Chevrolet Metro LSI Coupe (Hatchback) after a long and painful love affair with a 1989 Dodge Colt Station Wagon. For those of you unfamiliar with the Dodge Colt, let me just say that when a listener calls...

Pros: Economical, dependable, engine runs forever Cons: Body doesn't take collisions well.
I bought my second Metro this summer. Its gas mileage makes up for its lack of features. The first Metro was a 2 door hatch back I used for college. I drove it for 8 years. The engine lasts as long as you perform routine maintenance. I drove it...

I have a 1998 Metro that is my driving around car and it's exactly what I wanted. I bought it after being fed up with my Jeep and all of the maintenance and gas it guzzled. Bottom line is, if you need a pretty good little car and don't want to be...

Pros: hates gas, adorable, roomy enough, fast, safe, cheap, decent in the snow, the love! Cons: the way the A/C made it feel like going uphill in 5th gear The Bottom Line: With gas over $3 a gallon, everyone needs this car in their driveway!
When I visited the Chevy dealership that November morning back in '98, I knew exactly what I wanted. And when I walked into the showroom she was there, waiting for me. That adorable smile greeted me and I fell head over heels in love! My dad pointed ...

Pros: Inexpensive, looks good, reliable, cheap to repair. Cons: Power The Bottom Line: This car has a suzuki quality to it and at a Kia price.
What can I say about this car but "I LOVE IT" I owned (actually, still do) a 1992 Geo Metro 2 dr HB 5speed manual and I could not believe that car. I am a courier and that car just goes and goes and goes. It held up so well over the last 3 yrs that I had...

I got my 1998 Chevy Metro in March of 1999. My grandfather bought it for me but little did we know at the time he was very, very sick and not in his right mind. Within four months, the car had seven oil leaks and the air conditioner went out in it....

Looking for power? Lots Of Features? Power Steering? How about ABS? Well...This is not the car for you. If you drive 100 miles a day and need something to get you where you need to go, than buy this car. For the most part this car is reliable, although I...

My SPOUSES first car was a Metro. She bought it in 1990 and it's still running. It has over 200,000 miles on it and shows no signs of stopping. I bought her a new one and it is just as dependable. One of the things I like most about it is the gas...
