Pros: none Cons: Almost Everything
The experience that I've had with my 1999 Cavalier has been horrendous to say the least. The day that I picked it up it had problems, as I drove home from the dealership the car was shuddering every time I turned left. Realizing something was very...

Pros: great car, reliable Cons: Fern Green Metallic (who thought that up?)
After trading in a Prism(great car also) I got a '99 Cavalier(in '98) The only thing bad about it is the color (Fern Green Metallic) It was the only one on the lot with a CD player that was two doors.
I have 28,000 miles on it already and only...

Pros: mileage, comfort, ride, styling, size, large car feel Cons: low rent interior hardware, a few squeaks rattles, would prefer unpainted graphite bumpers over painted and groans
I bought my first new car in June 1999. I have always loved Cavaliers having first been introduced to GM small cars by a 1984 Citation. As this 95-2001 is almost a direct replacement for that Citation in size weight and room;I knew it was the perfect...

Pros: Price Cons: Reliability
Well, I was lucky enough to be able to find a car within my price range. I had enough of *buying someone else's problems*, so I opted for a new vehicle! I put on alot of miles for work, so I felt I should have a reliable car. However, it seems like I...

Pros: Ultimate family utility Cons: 4 cylinder
I have a 1999, teal green, Chevy Cavalier. This car has been the most faithful car that I have ever driven! I bought it fresh off the lot with less than 1000 miles on it last year. I have driven it from interstates to narrow, country roads. This car has...

Pros: economy, performance, comfort Cons: over anxious interior designers and of course the dealer
I have just experienced owning a Cavalier, for the second time and must compliment Chevrolet on the quality versus the price of this model. I am comparing the Cavalier to a Prizm, which I had in between the 1974 and 1999, Cavalier.
Although it is...

Pros: Sporty, comfortable, easy to drive, fun! Cons: Not suggested for family; small
A Cavalier is perfect for a young, sporty driver. Though I would not suggest this car for a family with older kids, I strongly recommend it for young adults. Any Chevrolet is safe and dependable. You will find very few mechanical problems with this...

Pros: A good, safe car. Cons: Not enough options
I have just turned 16 years old. My mom's vehicle is a 1999 Chevy Cavalier so, that is what I drive most of the time. As a 16 year old I have put this car to the limits. The car itself is good. I like the compact size of the outside but it is big...

Pros: Good content for price Cons: Two spoke steering wheel is uncomfortable
I am a union worker, so it's important for me to buy AMERICAN! The Chevy Cavalier is a good choice. I've always been a General Motors kind of guy, and I've owned Cavaliers and Pontiac Sunbirds before. This 1999 version is the best of the lot. It is...

Pros: affordable and nice Cons: choking seatbelts
I bought this car because it is affordable. Even though my car was a used car when I purchased it, it drives great and the only maintenance I have given to my car is the normal maintenance, oil change, filter change, etc....It is a well designed car,...

Pros: Cheap price Cons: Cheap parts, poor quality, craftmanship is horrible and warranty is sketchy. The Bottom Line: If you just want a cheap car, find another one. This will turn into an expensive car before long.
I bought my cavalier in 1999. It was brand new with only 56 miles on it. I got the factory warranty, along with an extended warranty. After only having the car 6 months, the gauges quit working properly. It was mostly the mileage gauge that quit ...

Pros: It has lived up to my expectations and then some! Cons: Could there be anything bad to say? The Bottom Line: If I had it to do again, I would buy this car. It has been trouble-free!
My title is true...my 1999 Chevy Cavalier survived a some serious weather and is still going! I bought the car new because I was anticipating a lot of driving and needed something that would be easy on gas. The Cavalier met my needs in the fuel ...

Pros: RELIABLE, stylish, easily maneuverable, sports car handling, small turning radius, starts on VERY COLD days... Cons: LOW Safety Ratings, my tape deck didn't work well at all, battery failed once... The Bottom Line: I WOULD recommend this car, but with a small warning about the low side crash rating. I think this car deserves more attention by the makers, to improve safety ratings.
My father bought me a used 1999 Chevy Cavalier in 2002. In the entire time I've had the car, it's been 3-4yrs now, I've had ONLY two problems with it. 1. The tape deck is flawed, it plays only on one side of the car (I know it's the tape deck and not the ...

Pros: It was only a lease and I get to unload it. Cons: Cracked head gasket, clunking steering wheel, whistling AC vents, constant creeking. The Bottom Line: The Cavalier is a great investment....if you're looking for a way to waste your hard earned money.
If Chevrolet/GM offered me a brand new Cavalier for FREE, I would keep on walking.
Since day one, my "brand new" Cavalier ran hot and leaked anti-freeze. Each morning was an adventure, wondering which warning light would flash on the...
