by MADYL Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500
Dec 17 '01 - Updated Dec 22 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sporty, attractive, handles great!
Cons: Less resale than a BMW, Smaller front space than most Lincolns
The Bottom Line: If you want to buy luxury and buy American, this is a great car!

In April, I made the decision to purchase a new car. After six years of driving a 1995 Ford Escort (the first car that I purchased after I graduated college) and after being told that my car didn’t suit my style or personality, I was ready for a serious...

Buying American? Then consider the LS

by brucec32 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500
Apr 29 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: handling, power(V-8), smooth ride, nice looking(w/ sports pkg), affordable
Cons: lack of interior storage, steep depreciation, interior materials
The Bottom Line: While probably a better bet as a used purchase due to steep depreciation, I like the LS as a lower cost alternative to German and Japanese sports sedans.

This is a review of the 2001 Lincoln LS. Since it was new for 2000, it has only a few changes for 2001. They include things like an improved cupholder, an additional powerpoint, available in-dash CD changer, a compass, a new 17" chrome wheel design on...

2001 Lincoln LS - BMW Looks, But Not The Performance

by dkozin Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10
Apr 30 '01 - Updated May 25 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks, price
Cons: Slow steering, car feels big and heavy, too soft suspension, transmission slow to downshift
The Bottom Line: Lincoln LS is no “American BMW” – it looks like one, but the looks are deceiving.

Last weekend I went to Cadillac’s “World Challenge” event, at which you can drive cars from Cadillac, Lincoln, Jaguar, Lexus, Mercedes and BMW on the road course. So I got a chance to compare Lincoln LS, Cadillac Catera Sport, Mercedes C320 and BMW...

Comfort, Power, and Class

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: power, overall style, safety
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: You would have to take a test drive in this car to believe how great it really is!

This is one smooth car on the inside and out. The 2001 Lincoln LS has more features than I have seen on any car. I own a Durango and a Corvette so this was quite a change for me. My boss bought the 2001 Lincoln LS as a company car for his business in...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Styling, comfort, driving feel, value, rear wheel drive, vast list of standard equipment
Cons: Interior could use more quality materials, more storage room inside, thirsty

Recently my fiance and I began looking for a comfortable, near-luxury sedan priced in the low 30s. The finalists were the Acura TL, Chrysler 300M, Lincoln LS, Saab 9-3 and Volvo S60. She currently drives a 1998 S70 GLT (see my review of it at...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: costs less than 528i and GS300
Cons: inferior to 528i and GS300

I recently shopped for a new car, and the Lincoln LS was on my "short list", along with the Acura TL, Chrysler 300M and BMW 3-series. The objective: as much performance and luxury as possible for around $30k.

The LS is a huge step...

by RBradford
Mar 14 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks, Ride, Interior, Performance, and Everything Else!!
Cons: Back Doors Automatically Lock, Minor Inconvenience...
The Bottom Line: The best bargain in luxury cars around! It has a split personality, also doubling as a sports car with great power and awesome handling and performance.

Wow, who would have thunk it? Me, driving a Lincoln.

If you had asked me a few years ago what I might be driving today, I guarantee you I would NOT have answered "a Lincoln". I'm way too young to be driving a car from the same company that...

Pros: Great for looks and mob pimpin'. Look hard and see the true beauty.
Cons: I want it to be a cadillac
The Bottom Line: Do you wanna G' ride in my cruiser. Maybe you can play in my cock pit...

Well the car was great for a test drive and it’s a wonderful car to see on the freeway. It rides well with the comfy interior as well as the increased safety installments Lincoln likes to put in makes this a great buy. Lincoln LS in a great car for the...

One Great Car!

by joeyjock
Apr 16 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great performance, comfort and styling in a surprisingly affordable package.
Cons: Aside from a lack of interior storage, this car is flawless.
The Bottom Line: Great performance, style and quality in a sport sedan for thousands less than anything in its class.

Driving the 2001 Lincoln LS is a pure joy! I own the V-8 with the Optional Sport Package, and have been totally convinced that the Lincoln LS is a viable alternative -- at considerable savings -- to higher priced imports such as the BMW and Lexus.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Style, Simplicity, Durability
Cons: fake wood (that can be replaced $300)

My grandparents recently purchased a 2001 Lincoln LS. They kept their 98 Mark VIII,
and since I am 16, and talked them into the car, they let me drive it 98% of the time, and I
must say I love the car. It is wonderful to drive, and you may...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: American, Styling,...
Cons: Not quite a BMW, and options
The Bottom Line: Great for the first try, now lets see how they improve on it.

I currently have a 2001 Lincoln LS as a company car. I got it fully loaded with the sport package. I was glad when this car came out because my boss only gets American company cars, and my only option was a Buick Park Avenue...yeah right. So not I have a...

Pros: Lincoln Status With European Luxury Import Feel, Reasonably Priced, Drives Like A Sports Car
Cons: Smaller Moonroof, Heated Seats Not Entirely Heated, No Longer Available In Vibrant White
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the 2001 Lincoln LS!

May 17 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Power,Comfort,Interior Appointment,Driveability
Cons: Dealer Service, Space, Measly gas tank, Lincoln image
The Bottom Line: If you want a fast, well equipped comfortable sedan and don't mind shoddy dealer support then the Lincoln LS is a good value for money.

Lincoln had high ambitions with this car and in many respects they've done a fine job. But, the 2000 LS does not have the assembly quality of a Lexus, the overall handling of a Bimmer or the after-sales care of an Infiniti.

It is an...

An American car with German accents

by moparzz
Nov 30 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Goes where you point it......fast! Great suspension, quiet ride.
Cons: Interior storage.
The Bottom Line: A whole new direction for Lincoln. In price/performance categories this model may rattle a few German and Japanese high-end automakers.

I admit that I have had this 2001 Lincoln LS (V8) for only a few days, but like they say, the first impressions are the most important.....and I'm impressed. I have owned nearly 60 cars in all makes and sizes and this car feels like it was built around...
