Pros: Oustanding value, smooth engine, comfortable ride Cons: ABS hard to find The Bottom Line: Check this car out - test drive it, and I think you'll be pleased.
Just purchased 2002 Hyundai Elantra Auto GLS with package 3. MSRP was $14682, paid $12299. For a car that is this loaded, this is really an oustanding value.
At this price you get: AC, cruise, AM/FM/CD, Electric windows & door locks, etc.

Pros: Safe Features, Style, Standard Features, Warranty Cons: Unproven Reliability, Squeaks and Rattles, Paint Easily Chipped The Bottom Line: Price and features match no other. This car should cost $20k. Test drive one and you will agree. (push those RPMs or the engine will feel a little weak.)
Unlike others on here, I have been driving my car for a few thousand miles so my review may be more helpful.
I researched cars for quite some time before driving off the lot with my new Elantra. No other car out there can match safe features...

Pros: Dependable, starts easily at -20, great MPG, over-all good vehicle. Cons: Paint, body metal, plastic headlamp lens, resale value unless your the buyer. The Bottom Line: A great car. Immaculate inside and out. 42,000 miles. Previously owned by an elderly gentleman who maintained it well.
I have driven this vehicle for 6 months and love it. No, I wasn't walking around for the previous 20+ years. I owned trucks. Other than a minor bit of front end vibration @ around 65MPH, a bit noisy especially since I don't use the stereo, (I know ...

Pros: Hatchback, roomy interior, lots of standard equipment, performance, fit & finish, Price!! Cons: The lingering image of the Hyundai of yesteryear, high depreciation/poor resale The Bottom Line: The roominess & utility of a small SUV, the comforts of a better sedan, and some features of a sports car. Hands down, the best NEW car under 15K
Although poor reliability and lack luster quality control have dogged this automaker in the past, Hyundai has truly come a long way.
Firstly, the Elantra GT is fun to drive. The tuned suspension is firm yet forgiving. The four wheel disc...

Pros: Fun, Functional, Looks Terrific, Value Cons: Mis-matched interior lights, imprecise shifter The Bottom Line: Value and fun are the top selling points in this 5 door compact. Lots of features and super fun handling make the GT a great budget choice.
It’s not easy to find a bargain these days, it seems like everything from milk to movie tickets is costing more and more. The same is true of new cars, it seems like only yesterday when $15,000 bought a well-equipped, mid-sized family sedan; today that...

Pros: Price, Style, Standard Features, Gas Mileage, Peppy Cons: Public Perception, No Cassette/CD Combo The Bottom Line: If you are looking for roomy and economical with lots of bells and whistles, this is the car for you!
I was never even considering a Hyundai when I went looking for my new car. However, after looking for an inexpensive, economical car with lots of headroom, I found myself surprised to see my search had produced the 2002 Hyundai Elantra as a possibility!...

Pros: Looks/drives sporty, nice interior design, price, warranty Cons: Transmission sticky sometimes The Bottom Line: Try it. You might like it!
The conventional wisdom suggests Hyundai and, indeed, all other Korean manufacturers, have very poor quality that results in the low sticker price. This can't be further from the truth! In the past ten years the Koreans have put a lot of effort into...

Pros: Price, Financing, Room, Features Cons: Resale value, thats it. The Bottom Line: No other car matches the features and quality for the price.
My new wife and I looked at the Acura EL (Canadian Honda Civic with leather), the Mazda Protege5 and the Hyundai Elantra GT premium.
I was all set to get a Protege5 (blue). Then, we went next door and drove the Elantra GT within 15 min of driving...

Pros: Styling, interior/exterior.Fun to drive.
Power windows work briefly when power is off

I travel for a living - 40 weeks a year- and put lots of miles on my cars. I traded my Ford Focus wagon after 2 years and 87k miles. The 2000 Focus was a solid car but had way too many recalls and I was having trouble with the steering.
So I...

Pros: Great Design. Excellent value!!! Cons: None The Bottom Line: Try it! Then Buy it!!!
Like many people, I have set in my mind a preconceived notion of the quality of Hyundai cars. It started in the 80s when they produced arguably, the world's first disposable car, the Pony. Fast forward to the 21st century - it's a whole new company!...

Pros: quite sleek high end car for a low price Cons: small minor The Bottom Line: My recommendation for this car is go out and buy it.
The Hyundai Elantra is a quite high end four door car with a rather low price. For most cars being close to the ground creates much road noise. In the 2002 Hyundai road noise is cut to a minimal amount. The car has a special car frame design to cut noise...

Pros: Everything...Price, ride quality, warranty, features Cons: Gas mileage can be better, CD Player breaks (yes, more than once!) The Bottom Line: There is at least a $3000 difference in similarly equipped Civics and Corollas. Quality seems great so far, but with the warranty and price, it doesn't matter! Buy it!!!
This is now my third Hyundai in 3 years (my wife has the 2002 Sonata). I traded in my 1999 Elantra because I wanted a 5 speed to play around with. I needed a commuter car for driving into Manhattan everyday that I can beat on for the next 5 years and not...

Pros: Quiet, Smooth Ride, 10yr 100,000 mile warranty Cons: Raised My insurance The Bottom Line: I recommend the 2002 Elantra to anyone who wants a classy car at a cheap price.
Before I bought this car, I was driving a 2001 Nissan Frontier. It was a good truck, however, it was rear wheel drive and didn't have enough get up and go because it was a 4 cylinder. I decided that i needed something that was cheaper than the truck,...
