Quietness Cons: Having other BMW drivers talk to me. I'm not one of you!!! The Bottom Line: Buy it because the '03s are available and cheap right now. They have plenty of life left in them, just buy an extended warranty but not from dealer.
Looking at sport sedans in the $25-$30K market I knew I wasn't going to be pleased with anything new. They're all Camry/Accord wannabees except the Mazdaspeed6 but I live in DC and my current manual is killing me. Therefore I began a search of used ...

Pros: Since April 2003 zero maintenance, no complaints! Six year warranty; free service during warranty. Cons: None. The Bottom Line: This car is not only a worry free investment but I believe it will become a highly prized and sought after collectible in the next 30 years!
I still get goosebumps thinking about how fortunate I was to buy the 2003 BMW 530iA with automatic transmission after its high rating in Consumer Reports for that year. I ordered it over the Internet from my local Stevens Creek BMW dealer and was given a ...

Pros: The 2003 BMW 530i is the finest car Consumer Reports has ever tested.
Cons: I should have bought a new 2003 BMW 530i in 2003. The Bottom Line: Finest car ever rated by CR in 2003 and nothing has come along to match it since.
I am not an expert but I can and do read car reviews. Therefore, in November 2005, I bought a 2003 BMW 530i automatic with all the original options from its original owner . The car was made in April 2003 so it is 2 years and about 6 months old. I ...

Pros: KEPT US ALIVE Cons: umm.... BMWs cost alot to fix...even if insurance picks it up... The Bottom Line: If safety is an issue for the purchase of your next car... pay the extra for a BMW.
Just this morning my mother was driving me to school when someone hit the rear, left side wheel well of our 03 BMW 540i at around 40 miles an hour by a Ford Focus. After the collision, our car did a 360 spin and winded up on the onramp of a local ...

Pros: Luxurious, accelerates with ease, lots of features/options, SUV type options, lots of cargo space, QUIET Cons: Poor interior storage, poorly marked interior controls, expensive to buy and keep up The Bottom Line: The perfect family sedan but not a soccer-mom-mobile! Could be driven for any occasion... business, family, road trip, you name it. Would recommend!
I got married last year, and my husband and I had 4 cars between us, and only one had 4 doors, this 530i that his father had left him after he passed away 6 months after he had bought it. When we talked about which cars to keep I must admit I was a ...

Pros: 540i is tremendously faster than 530i, though 530i is still impressive. Cons: Sport seats matched with sport handling make for a rough ride. Comfort seats are preferable. The Bottom Line: You will not regret buying a 5-series of any engine type. But if you like fast, don't cheat yourself out of the spirit- and mind-blowing 540i.
My husband and I made the mistake of driving a 2003 540i when we were shopping for an X5. We bought the X5 for its AWD and "sport 'activity' vehicle" personality, but we couldn't get the impressive 540i out of our minds (or souls, for that matter!). We ...

Pros: Fast, quiet, roomy, sound system, smooth, features galore Cons: Blind spots, not as comfortable as it should be The Bottom Line: A wonderful car that BMW will have a tough time duplicating.
Imagine my luck when I went to pick up my BMW 325 recently and found that the mechanics had lost the ...

Pros: Classic styling, wonderful engine lineup, one of the finest manual trans. Cons: Classic (read old) styling, dated looking instrument cluster The Bottom Line: No question, one of the finest mid-size luxury sedans in the world. More sport and style than any other car in the class.
The 530i was at the top of the list of cars to drive when looking for a mid-size luxury sedan. It sat atop the cache list with the Mercedes E-class, yet found itself alone when 'sport' sedan was the goal.
Now, the E-class is certainly one...
