2003 Lexus LX 470

Pros: Quiet, Powerful, smooth, and beautiful
Cons: Bad MPG, fairly pricey.

This is a powerful car with a quiet engine. When I first took this car off on a test drive, I found out that it had an extremely quiet ride. After buying the car and taking it on many trips, I could finally use the V8 engine in the deserty mountains of Arizona. I first realized its power and versatility when I was almost stuck in the mud after a flash flood softened the dirt around us, but my suprisingly powerful car eased out of the mud, and up a hill in a breeze.

Another thing that suprised me about this car is that although it seems small and boring on the outside, inner lighting gives the car a spacious look, and with austere detailing; there is a simple, clear-cut design to it.

The interior of this Lexus goes along with any other Lexus out there. It has first-class leather and interior wood that gives the car a tasteful look to it. Also, it has removable third row seats, and foldable second row seats.

A sure buy for people who only want the best luxury

Pros: Leather, spacious, many obtions, and drives more comfortably than any other luxury vehicle I've owned.
Cons: Gas mileage tends to be less than I would have hoped.

Upon test driving the GX 470 it was quite apparent that the vehicle defines luxury and comfort. At the time I owned a BMW 328XI and found the Lexus much more desirable. I have now put a little over 6K miles on my Lexus and have no desire to go back to BMW. The GX 470 has many more options while allowing the security of an suv. This automobile is worth lives up to its image.

Pros: Very quiet, quality materials inside the cabin, excelent reliability, excellent off-road capabilities.
Cons: MPG, Suspension, rear gate swings out sideways.

We had our GX 470 for 4 years. Mechanical quality (Power train) is excellent. No problems at all!!!The only problem we are having is the moon roof rattling. We went back to our dealer 3 times but they still trying to fix it. They sad that if the problem will continue they will have to replace the entire assembly.
The Serrvice department is great. They treat you like a royalty.
The ride is very quiet for SUV. Handling is probably one of the things that I'm not really satisfied with. When you passing bumps or holes on the pavement, the body is tilting and the suspension is behaving like you driving a truck... I woul expect a bit more control in terms of suspension.
On the freeway the car is very smooth a pretty responsive.

Pros: Superb fit and finish. ML audio system is fantastic. The most comfortable seats.
Cons: Engine gets poor gas mileage. Horsepower lacks slightly(upgraded in the '06 model to 270).

My wife and I are the second owners of our 2003 LX470. We purchased it in October of 2006 from Northside Lexus with 62k miles on it. We have driven it from Austin, TX to San Diego, CA and back and found the ride very comfortable. All of our vacation gear fit soundly and the trip was very uneventful. The engine runs smooth as silk. It is my wife's daily driver vehicle and I feel secure with her on the horrible roads of Central Texas. The view from interior seating is commanding to say the least. The AWD is superb and is very useful on rainy days and our "once a year" freezes. No complaints. We will probably by another LX when this one gets to be 10 years old.

Pros: quiet ride, spacious
Cons: use a lot of gas

my kids love the dvd player. very spacious in the inside.
the only thing i don't like about this car is hard to get to the 3rd row, lack of leg space.
