Pros: Sleek design, holds enough programs for me, can do almost anything! Cons: not color, not wireless, not expandable memory, outdated now
I have had this Palm for 4 years now and while I love it and can't live without it I will probably be getting an M515 soon. The only reasons why I will do that is because this model is pretty much outdated now that Palm has come out with color screens,...

Palm Vx Great Classic, and may be better than others
by purepalmer ,Oct 06 '05
Pros: Stability, ease of use, and very compact Cons: None
Well, the Palm Vx may not be the newest Palm handheld out there, but it may be one of the best. I bought mine off eBay for about 40 dollars, and think it may be a steal. I use mine for student planning, and contacts. But it's also good for games! After discovering freewarepalm.com, I ran out of Memory just with a few organizing programs and lots of games. On top of that, it runs Palm OS 3.5, which may be the most stable Palm OS made. More stable than the Tungsten T5 or Lifedrive. For anyone, I'd recomend the Palm Vx!

While maybe not the newest...
by sean_behr ,Feb 06 '02
While maybe not the newest or coolest personal organizer out there, it is clearly one of the best and most enduring. It does everything you really need very well (Calender, Address Book, etc.) without a lot of the things you don't need. A color screen with better resolution would be great. Given all the other options out there, I would still go Palm VX.

The Palm works okay until...
by landj_dt3000 ,Mar 08 '03
The Palm works okay until I try to sync it with my computer. Technical support is not supportive and has no idea how to resolve the problem. After hours and days on the phone trying to correct the problem, I through my Palm in the garbage and wasted my money.

by barbb_dt3001 ,Dec 04 '02
See cons. i wouldn't buy another one of this model. It's been sitting in the cradle for a long time with the cradle active and when i went to use it, it's dead. The book says, there's no replacement for battery and dispose of safely... what's up with that?

by burney_dt3000 ,Oct 29 '02
I have had the Calendar Button break.
The On/Off Button too if not great.
I love the Palm. Use it all day. Want to get one that has a phone built in.
Want one that has the screen that does not need resynching every day too.
Want a Palm that
It does not store previously searched options in the Find Window.
Buttons wear out.

by michael_dt3007 ,Mar 24 '02
buttons keep wearing out! especially the on off button but eventually involves most of the buttons. now on my second unit and same thing happening. access and quaility of technical support has been uniformly disappointing. i would not recommend this particular model to anyone (Palm Vx) and optaining a problem free model appears to be a crap shoot. i cannot recommend palm products in general until the company makes a commitment to quality control and customer assistance.

by max_&_shipper_k_dt3000 ,Mar 12 '03
I would not have bought this because of the synch problems and the B&W screen compared to color models that are much mroe brightly lit and easier to read. By the time I bought this, the color models were coming way down in price. Can't recommned it but the software is excellent.

The buttons wear out, get...
by kim_dc_dt3000 ,Mar 17 '03
The buttons wear out, get stuck, you have to dig them out, stylus gets lost and thinks you are pointing elsewhere, hardset only helps for a few days. Mine is three years old and has been dying a slow death for the last year. I was on the website looking for a replacement.
