Pros: Some good features, no download restrictions Cons: Iffy customer service
Ive been an AOL customer for several years now (probably about a decade though I cant quite remember). Having started out with Freeserve, where the internet connection (dial-up) was free but you paid for the calls meaning my phone bill ...

Pros: Fast Internet access, Use the telephone and Internet at the same time Cons: None as yet
I’m not sure if it was just me, but my old 56k dial up Internet connection seemed to be getting slower and slower at the tail end of last year. Maybe it was because Internet use is constantly rising in popularity thus putting a strain on web sites and ...

Pros: Great price, free helpline online, and much more besides. Cons: Has own instantmessenger,so you tend to get instant messages from random people quite often.
I decided to get AOL about two months ago, as soon as it went to a monthly fee of £15 for unlimited use. it is great, i was on the internet for 120 hours last month, and to think how much that would have cost me if i had to pay by the minute. The thing ...

Pros: not bad Cons: hijacks your system, never has worked properly
The problem with internet service providers in the UK is that they generally suck no matter which one you opt for. AOL wouldn't have been my first choice, and in fact wasn't my first choice, but I ended up with them after going through terrible...

Pros: good connection speeds (most of the time) Cons: the software is a nightmare
Before I started with AOL I had heard all these horror stories about AOL and not being able to un-subscribe, but I though they can't be that bad, if they claim to be the worlds largest ISP, can they?
The only reason why I started to use AOL...

Pros: Unmetred access for £15, customer service helpful Cons: The software, "AOL stigma", often engaged
AOL UK was the first ISP to offer unmetred access to the Internet without having to change your phone lines or company. But do the merits outweigh the annoyance?
The AOL 6.0 software is obviously geared up for use by beginners....

Pros: Services such as chat, message boards Cons: Paying for every single minute
AOL does have it's pros and cons, but they aren't necessarily evenly matched.
For example, AOL has a wide range of good services such as the chat rooms, message boards and online dictionaries. I have never found another ISP that provides any...

Pros: It's cheap Cons: Far too many to fit in this little box - see text of review
I've used several ISP's over the years, but I now find myself forced to use AOL at work. The deal is for £15 / month (about $20 I think) we get a 24/7 connection for free - not even any phone bills. Common in the US, I understand, but the only service of...

Pros: AIM, good user support, good members area. Cons: very very slow, expensive compared with competition.
Slooooow
AOL was my ISP for about a year, not because it was the best service, but because it was the first one I tried, and I didn't know about any better services.
OK, it may be considered good for a beginner, and I suppose it...

Pros: Only a monthly charge Cons: down-time, engaged tones, slow connection, I could go on
I'm an AOL user, there you go I admit it, go on flame me with a few e-mails see if I care! However I'm aiming to change your opinion of me on that side, see AOL is only a respite whilst I await a sign-up disc from NTL, so with my computer originally...

AOL frequently upgrade their versions which is an encouraging thing for their millions of customers. AOL was not my first Internet Service Privider but they are the company i have chosen to stick with - having been a customer for five years at present. ...

Pros: Easy to use Cons: Can take a while to log on
I'm a girl who likes the internet. I log on alot, to chat, download, surf! Well to do all this I need someone reliable and helpful to log on with. I've had no major problems with AOL. I like the flat-rate tariff, which allows me to surf for unlimited...

Pros: Large company, good support Cons: High price, tricky to use
AOL were the first service provider I used when I got online. The reasons for using them were simple - I didn't know much about the Internet, and AOL were the best advertised and offered a free trial.
Stupidly ignoring the free trial, I signed...

Pros: Lots of quick links to good content & cheap with it. Cons: £3 ($5) more than it's cheapest unmetered rival.
I signed up for AOL after a free trial, expecting to give it up and go back to the service I had been using before. But I soon got used to getting online at the first attempt, and if they ever did have a week or so when there were problems, you found new...

Pros: very user friendly - especially for the beginner Cons: no free surf time, still metered access
AOL – I bet a lot of us kicked off by using this as our first gateway to the internet.
It used to be (and still is in some cases) that an AOL and a Compuserve installation CD would be stuck on the front or tucked inside just about every Computer...
