Pros: high speeds, available in almost all areas, not very expensive Cons: slow at peak times, DSL is somewhat better in different aspects
When I first heard that cable modem service was soon to be available in, I was incredibly anxious to see what it would be like to finally have high speed internet service in the privacy of my own home. The price was really not that great of a concern...

Pros: I have not found any Cons: Worst company I have ever dealt with on any level.
I recently signed up for MediaOne's full voice/internet/TV package. It was a huge mistake. I have never had such a negative experience with a company in my life! To provide a detailed list of all the problems I had with them would take more space than...

Pros: faster than dial up, less disconnects Cons: slow for what is being paid for!
Aloha! Finally after much anticipation, the back jungles here on the Big Island got cable!! Boy am i disappointed! The speed is not at all what it should be. We are getting download speeds of 30/40 kps on Napster... and bear in mind we are 2 hours...

Pros: Faster than Dial-UP, 5 email accounts Cons: Expensive, complicated to install
I have had Road Runner for about a year now so this is review has some history behind it. I have developed a love/hate relationship with Road Runner. My overall feeling about the service is that it is worth the extra money for the speed and for...

Pros: high speed connection Cons: none
High speed internet connection is the way to be, and with "Mediaone Roadrunner" accompanied by there "Cable Modem" is the way to go. Thus this service cost $39.99 a month we all love it.
Now that I have my "Mediaone...

Pros: speed, convenience, and many more Cons: cost to some I am sure
I have been using the internet for almost two years. I started with AOL like most do. I then upgraded to a local ISP. I do a lot of programs online and visit many web pages in that process. I needed something faster than my 33 modem. I got a great...

Pros: 30 day offer you can...you can decide for free whether or not it's worth it, Faster downloads, less waiting, no dialing up, always connected Cons: Some experience with down time when there was a big storm once, Not as fast as satellite, also run the risk of being called a "nerd" by your friends if you learn too much about the internet :)
At first to me Road Runner seemed to promise little more than being able to send or receive phone calls while being online....boy was that an understatement.
From the very first time that you download something the power of Road Runner is...

Pros: Speed Cons: Time Warner, outsourced tech line
In the days of the Internet, there are two classes of people - those with a fast Internet connection and everybody else. With all sorts of information out there, it is nice to be able to get it without waiting. That is the promise of cable modems: to...

Pros: FAST, Cheap, Easy Cons: Very poor technical support
Thankfully, I live in an area not yet overrun in the cable modem market. This means that I typically get a much better speed than the average cable modem user. Cable modems are based on shared bandwidth. The more people in your area using cable, the...

Pros: High speed, and easy access. Also doesn't clog up your phone line. Cons: Can't get it, if you don't have cable running through where you live.
Road Runner is a fast internet service. The high speeds help's, when you are downloading big programs. The only con about it, is if you don't have cable in your area, then you can't have. See i live on the outskirts of town. And they won't run cable up...

Pros: Speed, Speed and more speed Cons: Need to be aware of security risks
At the risk of showing my advanced age, I will admit the fact that the first modem I used was a 300 baud and was so impressed with 1200 baud, never dreaming of what was to come! Speeds are impressive, customer support a bit less, but not horrendous....

Pros: Fast, quick installation, works very good Cons: The anticipation before you get Road Runner may drive you crazy!
Beep-Beep! By now most everyone has heard of high speed online. One of the newer and now one of the biggest, Road Runner is a high speed online service that runs through a cable modem (you use just your plain old TV cable wires).
Here is...

Pros: Just about everything Cons: But it's not always totally perfect! (Nothing is!)
To me, RoadRunner is one of life's ultimate and most useful luxuries
.
To begin with, it really is as fast as they tell you -- it just streaks its way along!
That's a wonderful feature, but there are others that mean even more to...

Pros: everything Cons: a bit pricier than phone cable
Have had Roadrunner internet service for 3 months now and would sell my wedding rings before I would go back to phone internet service again. The wait for uploads is miniscule compared to phone cable. Pictures come in quickly. I don't fall asleep...
