Pros: Small and easy classes, great faculty, variety of learning tools Cons: Where do I start...?
Good ol' Catawba College. Where do I start with you? I know you thought I appreciated the way I was treated there, the education I received, the way you ripped me off... but you were wrong. I never understood so many things about you, and now is...

Pros: small, nice surrounding property Cons: too easy, tooooo expensive

Small Private College; a Friendly Place
by catawbaguy ,Aug 09 '05
Pros: - excellent, dedicated faculty
- good living situation
strong Christian atmosphere Cons: - private schools are more expensive than public universities
I completed my degree at Catawba College after tiring of being a student at a large state university (a small fish in a big pond). I guess what I was looking for was a friendly atmosphere, a small college community rather than a large university. Catawba did provide me with the on-campus experience that I was seeking, and the chance to gain an outstanding education. There were so many interesting things to do, and in a small town!
Salisbury was a wonderful place to go to school. And the campus at Catawba is as beautiful as Duke's, just smaller.
So many of the students I attended classes with have done well after college. I went on to earn a doctorate degree. I know was a better student in graduate school because of my years at Catawba. My only regret was that I didn't take the opportunity to study under more of the excellent faculty members.
I don't think that those students who lived at home and attended Catawba got the same experience as those of us who lived on campus.
