This thing rocks

by fido , Jul 28 '02
Pros: So small, so portable. Great for imports and mix discs.
Cons: U.S. doesn't produce a lot on Minidisc.
My need: tunes for the subway. A score for my walks in the city.

My solution: the AIWA AM-C80 Minidisc Recorder/Player.

The dish: I love this thing. First off, it's so small. I can fit it in my jacket pocket. All the discs are...

Good Overall Machine

by synchro505 , Mar 04 '01
Pros: Large Transport Buttons, Handy Jog Wheel, Generous Size Main Backlit LCD Display
Cons: Digital Synchro Recording Not Allowed From Non-Aiwa Unit Input, Lithium Ion Battery Optional
Introduction and Concept

The Aiwa AM C-80 MiniDisc player is my first MiniDisc machine purchase. I have helped others set their MiniDisc units up for various purposes which I believe prompted my decision to buy one. As a musician, I hope to...

Good Thing in a Small Package

by dinad , Dec 28 '00
Pros: Portable, Easy to use, Sturdy
Cons: Hard to find in stores
First of all, let me make a confession: I am a gadget geek.
There, I said it.

Now then. A while ago I decided I needed a gadget fix. I was torn between an mp3 player, a cd burner (which, if I bought one, would also require a...

The Aiwa AM-C80

by daftunion , Mar 10 '01
Pros: Small Unit, light, attractive, Backlit LCD on remote and main unit
Cons: External battery box is rather bulky, battery life isn't the greatest
The Aiwa AM-C80 is a good MD player/recorder overall. It has 40 second E.A.S.S. shock protection (Electronic Anti Shock System), Mono recording, title input while recording, great headphones, an optical digital cable, and an external battery box which...

Great Deal for a Great Unit

by Mad-Sci , Oct 27 '00
Pros: lightweight and compact, relatively cheap, excellent sound
Cons: accessories
About a month ago, I picked up one of Aiwa's AM-C80 portable minidisc recorders through JandR.com and I have to say that it is a definite competitor in today's minidisc market. I have not yet been let down by sound quality, craftsmanship, size, or...

Viva Minidisc!

by JoeCool449 , Jan 20 '01
Pros: great design, nice looking, small, light, easy to use, lots of features, cheap
Cons: none really... the headphones it comes with arent vey good... but thats it.
The Aiwa AM-C80 is the first minidisc player I have ever owned. However, before I had the C80 I had an MP3 player. I can tell you now that the Rio PMP 300 I had before the AM-C80 is nowhere as good. The AM-C80 allows you to record music from anywhere you...

Did you ever wondered about short wave radios?

by tarek7 , Mar 12 '01
Pros: World wide radio station receiver.
Cons: Runs through batteries like nothing.
Hi there,
Now before we irritate each other though I don't think there is any reason to do so, this title is written not according to the right category simply because my title and brand does not exist in epinions. I have even emailed them and that...

If precise editing is important...

by triplicate , Oct 22 '00
Pros: User-friendly editing functions, lighted display on deck as well as remote.
Cons: Rechargeable battery is optional, large external battery box
I wish the AM-C80 had been available back when I got my Sharp 702. Having had one a couple of weeks now, I've found it to be a more capable and user-friendly editing recorder.I do a lot of recording from radio and need to edit out commercials and...
