Thid MD is amaxing. I could not believe my ears when I heard the sound. I know nobody thinks about this but the MD also looks quite cool an flashy. Its great to be able to get so much music for so little money (that is the discs of course.)

so glad that i chose MD instead of MP3. going overseas this summer (light as possible) and loving the fact that i won't have to carry bulky cd cases. 3 MD's or 10 CD's for 12 hrs of music? hmm...

i took this on a six and one half mile run and it did not skip once. i had to be very careful with the one i used because it is not mine. mine is on the way.i kind of had to jerry rigg it so it would not fall out of my pocket. so the belt clip or the wrist strap would be nice. i love it. i would reccomend it to any one

No regrets on this player....
by noostik_dt3000 ,Aug 27 '02
No regrets on this player. The player does not skip easily. I have tried playing it while riding the roller coster ride, no skip discovered. It utilized only a single AA battery, which is easily available and cheap. Two years since I started using it, no problem on the functionality of the player. I would recomend this to beginners, who wish to be involved in Minidisc industry.

This player is the right size: small, yet big enough to hold on to. LP4 mode lets one disc hold 5 CDs, with sound quality that's still very listenable. Has a nice, wide LCD screen to display song names, but when you record songs they are not labelled automatically. Result: You end up just reading the track numbers to find a song, just like on your old CD player.

A great deal MD player-recorder....
by assaf,_from_israel_dt3000 ,Jul 01 '02
A great deal MD player-recorder. The DPC is great, though it has some minor problems (like 1st second skip in each song, and sometimes the connection wants to play with you a little before it starts to work :). The x2/x4 rec is great, though the x4 reduces the quality of the recorded material. The x2 is great quality and lets record alot on one MD (2 or 3 CDs!). The remote control is very bad, it's main button (rew/ff/play) gets broken after a while, and the lack of display is VERY annoying! The rechargeable battary lasts for a long time (approx. 7 hrs.) and a fresh one lasts forever (and I'm not kidding!). Overall: a great piece for a little money. The only serius comment about this MD player is about the remote, all the rest is 100% fine! (and you can get a backlit display remote for 60$). One last thing: don't be cheap when buying headphones, and do buy new headphones!

I have been using this...
by creature1_dt3000 ,Feb 06 '02
I have been using this Sony MZR-700 Mini-Disc player/recorder for about 7 months now. It is very portable, fitting in most shirt pockets. The re-chargable battery lasts appoximatley 14 hours of playing time, and blank mini-discs can be found for as low as $1.75 each. The only major drawback is with recording time...recordings are made real time (just like dubbing tapes) which can be a hassel if you like to make lots of recordings. But the media is cheaper than memory for your MP3 player, so if you like to carry alot of musical options, a mini-disc player is for you. You may want to look into a more advanced model, as many units now come with a remote control and FM tuner (which the MZR-700 does not)
