Pros: You can make mixes and it doesn't skip. Cons: None that I know of.
The Sony MZ-R37 is a great Minidisc player/recorder. It is great how it plays and records minidiscs. If you don't have a CD you can make a minidisc of it. You can also record from the internet. Minidiscs never skip and the sound quality is identical...

Pros: Great sound quality, portable convenience, intelligent design Cons: Minidiscs may become obsolete, better for CDs than MP3s
The small size of the MZ-R37 belies its incredibly functional design. If you want a device that records better quality sound than any tape deck yet packs the portability of a WalkMan, this amazingly versatile little device will get you there.

(Last edited 00-05-13, 08:38 MTN)
Let's start with some background: I am a professional musician who focuses mostly on classical accompaniment and teaching for work. I need to be able to track rehearsals and lessons, then study them for future...

Pros: Compact, complete package Cons: None
Sony scored with this one. The MZ-R37 comes bundled with everything I needed to become gleefully addicted to Mini-Disc.
I'm a big MP3 fan, and I wanted a way to enjoy my digital music without having to lug around my laptop. There were a few...

Pros: Small, portable, runs good with batteries. Cons: You cant speed up the recording process. If the song its 2minutes long, then it takes 2 minutes to record.
When I first heard about this new thing called a "mini disc", I was amazed. I thought it had to be one of the single most ingenious inventions. It lets you make your own mix of music. The MZ-R37 is awsome. I was always hearing about how...

Pros: Small, easy, long battery life Cons: no optical (digital) output
I am in a Rock Band in New York, and we had developed the habit of recording all rehearsals and gigs on a cheap boom box for later reference. I got the idea, why not record everything with digital quality instead of boom box condenser mic quality....

Pros: Lightweight, slim design. All controls located for easy access - even in a carrier Cons: Small display
I've been super pleased with this unit for its lightweight and slim design. The package came with optical cables, remote, AC/recharge supply, rechargeable batteries and break-down headphones. The batteries don't seem to add much weight and you can use...

Pros: small, uses standard AA batteries, excellent fidelity, good remote Cons: some buttons on underside awkward to access
Even though this is now an 'older' model of MD by Sony, the multimedia multinational has pooled its considerable R&D resources and created a considerable product. For the money, and the size, this is essentially a professional MD recorder. You can...

Pros: Excellent sound, the included headphones are better than $45+ headphones, easy recording, convenient remote Cons: Remote doesn't completely "feel right", titling is a hassle, can accidentally erase entire MDs accidentally.
I'm a high school student who was looking for a way to listen to music on the road, mainly for school related events, but also for jogging etc.. I looked around for mainly an MP3 player or a shock resistant CD player, but MP3 players have like an...

Pros: High quality sound, never skips. Cons: Too pricy, too early.
The Sony portable minidisc family is some of the best quality sound on the open market. The sound quality is great, the players never skip, and songs can be written on the minidisc over and over again with no loose in quality. But is this the right...

Pros: compact, records and plays, cd sync, mega bass, AVLS,rechargeable batteries included, 40 second skip protection, digital cable supplied, title input, remote included, microphone jack, records in mono, track move, track mark, stylish, comparably affordable. Cons: No analog wire ( a cheap wire that lets you record in less quality but more people use it)
I have to start out by stating that I bought this product because I purchased an I-Jam mp3 player and was not satisfied with it. The mp3 players as a whole from what I understand do not hold enough songs, and that's a big problem. So I researched...

Pros: easy to use, recordable, cheap Cons: small display, larger than most mini discs
This is the perfect Mini Disc player for anyone buying their first. For the price (I got mine for about $200) and the fact that this can record it is perfect. Its size for a mini disc player is a bit larger than most but when you think about it it...
