Pros: price is reasonable, no interruptions in service Cons: shared channels, slow in adding channels
It should be noted that in October of 1999 Adelphia acquired Century Communications. Adelphia started as a family business in the 1950s with the name Adelphia coming from the Greek word “brother”.
Right now I am very upset with Adelphia cable and their useless digital cable. I'll be happy to explain why...
I live in Santa Monica, and I have Adelphia cable, with which I've had no major problems, except for the high price, until DIGITAL. ...
Century Communications is no more, I now work for Adelphia. One thing that I can say for Century Communications was that they trimmed from the top & let us little people alone. You were safe being one of the little people that worked at Century...
Pros: Extremely professional and quick installation Cons: I'd rather have a DSL but these rates are too hard to pass up!
Our large condo development (500 units) in Chicago decided to go with 21st Century Cable recently, even though it required a full rewiring of the building. I was very worried that it would take WAY longer than planned and that we'd have no tv at all...
Pros: good customer service, fair prices, reliable service/no outages Cons: don't offer a lot of channels
I've had Century Cable for 5 years and have never had a problem with them. Their prices are fair, and their customer service is good. Their office has friendly staff, and they have a convenient box right at the front desk where I can drop my payment in...
Get Satellite. Much cheaper!
Their prices keep increasing. $102.95 for digital cable/HBO and broadband service. The same service was $72 10 months ago.
Pros: None whatsoever. Cons: Total failure of installation.
Adelphia said they would install on Monday 8-10 am. Called to remind me. Voice-mailed to remind me. Just before 10 they called to say, we're running a little behind, can't say when we'll get there. At 12:15 I left for a business lunch after telling them to call me on my cell. That afternoon they left a voicemail on my home phone, where I told them I wouldn't be. I called the number they left, got a guy in Florida. He said he'd switch me to California, but instead connected me to Cleveland. The Cleveland guy said California wouldn't answer, but he'd leave a message and they would call me within a few minutes. They never did. That was a week ago, and I still haven't been able to get it installed.
It's o.k. if you're not an IDIOT ! by invertigo29 ,Sep 02 '05
Pros: overall great programming!
Cons: weather and digital black outs suck!
I switched from DIRECTTV satellite because they were too damn expensive. I am saving 30 Dollars a month and I am getting broadband internet service to boot !
All cable whether regular digital or satellite doesn't give you much that you want to watch, obviously they are not all psychics there and don't really know when you'll be home or what you would like to watch at that moment! So I have found it best to go with the cheapest service that gives you the most. I get over 100 channels to watch and internet service for a very fair price!
I am so sick of people who want everything for nothing! So stop complaining Santa Monica!
