My very first bank account was with ESL Federal Credit Union, then called Eastman Savings & Loan, when it was still a bank only for Kodak employees. My member number at ESL Federal Credit Union is still my old Kodak insurance number from ...
Pros: Great customer service Cons: number and location of branches
We switched all of our accounts over to ESL from a commercial bank a little over a year ago and have had nothing but good experiences. I was very upset when I entered ESL to open the account due to an experience that I had at the bank. The teller that...
I would have never had the chance to join ESL federal credit union (Eastman Savings and Loan), if I hadn't been employed by them first. ESL is a credit union that was originally organized for Kodak employees and was based inside Greater Rochester New...
Eastman Savings and Loan was the first Credit Union I was ever in, and I will never leave them. As a college student, money is normally in short supply for me. ESL gave me a checking and savings account, both with no minimum balance and neither has a...
Pros: Fees aren't bad, Many Account types, good service, small bank feel. Cons: ATM Fees at Non ESL ATM's
I joined ESL as the son of an employee, and was thereby made eligible to obtain accounts. The first thing that I liked about ESL was that it was easy to get accounts where you were'nt required to have a minimum balance. When you are younger (8-14) and...
Pros: Free checking, online banking Cons: Poor Customer Service (Both online and by phone, AND in branch)
ESL has VERY poor customer service. I have belonged to them for a long time now, ONLY because we have a loan with them. As soon as that is done, we are switching FAST. Their tellers seem to not know what they are doing half the time. I have been in...
Do not do business with ESL. Several errors and unresponsive customer service. I had a car loan through them which, after several attempts to "work through" with a loan rep, became a HUGE hassle. I will NEVER do business with them again. I am in the finance field and recommend to my clients that they refrain from working with ESL. I wouldn't even keep a checking account there.
WORST BANK EVER! Stay Away! by nwahs71 ,Feb 20 '08
Pros: None. Will never do business with again. Cons: Horrible customer service, several errors, ignorant staff.
I've worked with many banks over the years, some great and some not so good. ESL is by far the WORST out there. They're fine if all you have is basic checking, but for any kind of loan/investment or business account, STAY AWAY!
Poor Customer Service At ESL by tillman0000 ,Oct 09 '07
Pros: None Cons: Poor Customer Service, High turnover
I called the Member Service Center the other day and wanted information on my mortgage. I was transfered several times to the wrong department. The person in the telephone center had no training in answering questions on mortgages. Yes, This person could not look up my new payment because my escrow went up. He could not tell me my new payment. Poor Training. ESL states that the have an award for best training??? What training. I have also found that the branch staff has little or no training also. I have decided to switch banks and find
one that has great customer service.
