Pros: Washes well, quiet, customizable racks, top rack can be removed, utensil bin divides into two Cons: Sometimes the handle sticks and requires an extra tug when opening the machine
During the Great Kitchen Remodel, we purchased this Maytag Dishwasher. Our old dishwasher had a rusted bottom, causing hidden leaks, which required all sorts of lovely repairs. Since the subfloor needed to be replaced, why not just redo the ...
Pros: Actually cleans dishes without prewashing; great warranty; quiet Cons: High initial cost
We have been married for over 20 years and have never owned a dishwasher. So when the hints started coming my way that it was about time (OK, well past time) to get one, I started doing my research.
Pros: Reasonably quiet and washes the dishes. I've no complaints about "the" Maytag repairman. Cons: White external finish shows dirt and the utensil containers are too small.
~~ My previous experience with dishwashers ~~ My wife and I have been married 15 years now; it seems like forever. That's not a bad thing :-) We've always had a dishwasher. Our first was a Whirlpool, then we an inherited a General Electric ...
First of all, let me explain that I purchased the MDBH950B from Home Depot about two years ago. It is very similar to this model and when I couldn't find any reviews of the model I purchased, I thought it might be helpful to people to add one. My 1936 ...
Pros: Quiet, cleans great, efficient use of water Cons: none so far.
I purchased the Maytag 9150AWW with stainless steel tub in February 2003 to replace a noisy whirlpool model. The position of our dishwasher in the kitchen is so that the noise is very distracting. I know, we could have run it at night, but that's not...
Pros: The outside is white like the other junk Maytag appliances I own. Cons: I would have been happier buying LG. I would have been happier buying LG.
I unfortunately wasted a lot of money on this dishwasher, a stove, a side by side refrigerator, a washer and dryer. In the first three years of ownership, everyone of them (except the dryer) has been worked on numerous times. MAYTAG MAKES JUNK AND ...
Everything a dishwasher should be! by gabe2003 ,Dec 30 '03
Pros: cleans dishes! quite Cons: none
We replaced a new Maytag 8600 with this machine. The 9150 washes extremely well. It is quite and has an acceptable length wash cycle. The stainless tub is an added plus for durability. This isn't the newest designed dishwasher on the market but it has a proven performance record. Bottom line, it works!
Buyer Beware Maytag Service is the Worst by rdeans ,Nov 12 '03
Pros: Cleans dishes well with out rinsing, Easy to load and operate. Cons: Not reliable or durable, handle breaks, Maytag service is awful.
We have owned this dishwasher for a little over a year and a half. It washes and drys wonderfully. It is not nearly as quiet as we had hoped leaving us wishing we would have purchased the Bosch. Last month the plastic handle on our unit broke. It has been over one month and it is still not repaired. I have spent 2 six hour blocks of time and one 7 hour block of time waiting for repair people. The first person came and confirmed the handle was broken, ordered the correct part. The second person came and brought the wrong part. The third person never showed up because even though they called us to say they had the part they really didn't. I have put in countless hours on the phone trying to get this problem solved and still nothing. The staff have been rude, claiming not to have any authority to handle the countless mistakes. They have suggested that I should be pleased as the part lasted over ONE year. I will not buy another Maytag because of the horrible service.
Maytag dishwasher is poor quality by ibpilgrim ,Nov 12 '04
Pros: good on water conservation. Reasonably quiet. Holds a good amount of dishes. Cons: Broken handle. loading correctly is difficult. Frequently leaves material on the exterior of dishes.
During a kitchen remodel in July 2002, we installed a new Maytag dishwasher of this model. The plastic opener on the handle recently broke and we are unable to get it replaced. Maytag and the Maytag authorized repair shops are unable to to get the part and install it. While the dishwasher is quiet and cleans well without much prewashing, it does leave material on the outside of glassware occasionally and then bakes it on during the dry cycle. In 50 years of home ownership we have have 4 dishwashers. While this dishwasher does an acceptable job of washing I will never buy another Maytag appliance based on my experience with this dishwasher and Maytag.
A maytag dishwasher purchased in 2005 has had a problem with the command control panel since the first year. The panel has gone out three times and I now have spent more on the repair than the machine cost new. I would never purchase anything again made by this company.
