I can't live without my Cuisinart. My mom has had one for 10 years now and I recently got married and it was the first thing on my registry. This item is a must in every kitchen. It does jobs of all sizes from grinding garlic to making pasta...
Pros: Strong, reliable motor. Versatile beyond your wildest dreams. Cons: Fragile locking mechanism in lid.
Food Processor - such a sterile phrase for such a versatile machine. This is my second Cuisinart as my first was destroyed in the Santa Cruz earthquake - so if you buy another one, then that is already a great recommendation in and of itself.
Pros: Quiet, easy to use, long cord, dishwasher safe parts. Cons: high price if bought retail.
Let me say that I have had three very cheap, very useless food processors in the past. I know these machines, and you can love them or hate them. I hated them. One of my aunts had bought me a beautiful, shiny 10 - cup food processor that was very ...
I had been given two food processors previously but never used them because they seemed complicated and difficult to use. I was a little scared to actually use them. Then a friend recommended I try the Cuisinart DLC-5 model. I found it on sale and...
Pros: Suddenly slicing and dicing are fun Cons: "When are you going to make another strawberry-rhubarb pie?"
This user-friendly food processor can transform the sorriest excuse for a cook into Martha Stewart with the push of a button. Open the helpful instruction/recipe book to a recipe that sounds good (of which there are many) and you're on your way. Get...
I really, really hate to cut and dice things. That is why I really never cooked and my poor husband never ate homecooked meals. When I purchased the Cuinsart all that changed.
I thought that the instructions with the product were poor, but once...
Couldn't live with out my Cuisinart! by hockey_girl ,Sep 05 '09
Pros: Very sturdy, well made machine. Incredibly versitile and fun to use! Cons: Cord storage only on newer models. Very heavy. I envy those with appliance garages!
Prior to purchasing a Cuisinart food processor, I owned a different brand that I had to toss when the motor died after approximately two years of use.
I decided to purchase a Cuisinart after reading some very positive reviews on Epinions. Initially I was concerned that I may have chosen too large of a unit (I bought the 11-cup model), but even with a small family, the size is perfect for my needs!
I use my food processor at least 3 times a week for things like making salsa, homemade pizza dough, pesto and other sauces, cake frostings, chopping veggies & nuts, grating cheese, etc.
Not long after I bought my Cuisinart, our local cooking store offered a Cuisinart Food Processor cooking class which was great! The instructor made several hors d'oeuvres and desserts from a Cusinart cookbook and I was blown away at how versitile the machine is!
I've had my Cuisinart for two years now and it gets some serious use. I haven't encountered any mechanical problems yet, but if it ever meets the same fate as my prior food processor, I'll definitely be replacing it. I use it far too often to live without one! :o)
Pros: Strong engine, chops and shreds quite well. Cons: Faulty pusher sleeve easily breaks--expensive to replace.
This food processor works well - when it is working. The motor is very strong, and it feels like it could pull a wagon. But, the "locking" pusher sleeve assembly has a plastic clip that has now broken TWICE while I was shredding carrots or cheese. I replaced it the first time for about $40 (including shipping) It is a NECESSARY part of the food processor, and it will not work without this clip in place (to prevent unintentional operation). I am very disappointed that I am now faced with replacing this pusher sleeve for the second time, or replacing the entire food processor. To my mind this is a design flaw in a rather expensive food processor. This is the expenisive part: Cuisinart DLC018BGTX Large Pusher Sleeve Assembly. I don't use this processor every day, only about a dozen times a year. So, I'm dissappointed with the quality.
