Briefly, we reserved the truck three weeks prior to the move. Showed up on the designated morning and we were told "sorry, we no have no more trucks"
As if the shear stupidity of the local store weren't enough, it took me 1 1/2 hours on the phone to the store manager, the regional office and the headquarters the following Monday, JUST TO GET MY $5 RESERVATION FEE REFUNDED!!
I am in awe of their ability to remain in business considering the unparalleled ineptitude of the staff and indescribably short-sighted customer service policies.

Trying to talk to anybody at a U Haul store is impossible. I was put on hold several times for 20+ minutes. I eventually went to the store and was treated rudely there as well. No "service" at all. Pretty much a "take it or leave it" mentality. I again tried to reach someone via phone and got the same routine. I eventually found a better truck at Penske for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE and dealt with very nice people to boot.
