Pros: Many activities, organized, nice setting Cons: none
I worked at Camp Bernadette in 1998 as a counselor. The camp is set in a beautiful location. There is plenty of shore for water sports and swimming, and the camp is based in a nice parklike area. The main meal hall building is right on the water....
Pros: The scenery and atmosphere are awesome! Being in the middle of the woods, away from family and friends, yet knowing that you are surrounded by people that love you! Cons: 14 girls, 1 cabin, 6 outlets... you do the math! In order to have a warm shower you have to get up at 5:30am!
I spent six of the most wonderful summers at this all girls/ catholic camp! From 1986 to 1991 I was a camper (Intermediate 86-87, Senior 88-91) and a CIT (Counselor in Training) in 1992. My parents decided to send me to Bernie since I was extremely shy...
Pros: great community, lots of fun for campers, all girls atmosphere is great for girls' self-esteem. Cons: none
I was a camper at Bernie and I have incredible memories of camp. I made wonderful friends and had so many fun times. I still sing all the camp songs to my husband. Christmas in July was my favorite session but I also like Mardi-Gras, too. I always...
Pros: Location, activities, friendly staff and campers, Lake Wentworth, FUN! Cons: Honestly I really cannot think of any.
Alas I am now, at 27, too old to go to summer camp:( I went to Bernie every summer as a youngster (for 1-2 sessions). I LOVED camp! Bernie is a fabulous camp! The girls really form intimate bonds with each other - and have a BLAST! The camp is clean, ...
Pros: too many to list...a great time Cons: too little horseback riding
Why should you send your child to Bernadette? There are too many reasons to list! Activities range from horseback riding to sports and waterfront activities to Arts/Crafts. Quite time and Free time is given to every camper every day! There is a camp...
Pros: On a lake, great people, fun activities, Bernie-Fatima days, you stay in cabins, scholarship Cons: for me: swimming lessons!!
I loved going
to camp and still do. The other reveiws were kind of old, so... in case you were wondering there's no horseback riding any more.I've only gone for sessions 1&2, but there were no horses or a barn.
The camp is right on Lake Wentworth, so there is great boating and swimming! There is also about 3 fields for sports too.And for other sports, there are courts, and even a "hidden" lacrosse field. Ropes course is ALWAYS fun. From high wire to teamwork games out in the woods together as a cabin. Also in ropes course (for int.& seniors) there is a rock climbing wall.
Twice a session, we go to Fatima, the brother camp, and have a great time!!
For safety there are yellow shirt drills (this is when they blow a horn because they think someone might be in the lake drowning). Right when we were switching activities, so me and a few other girls ran as fast as we could to our cabins. We didnt hear it was but, there was a Yellow Shirt Drill. We got in huge trouble!!
I would say so much more, but i cant.Type in "Camp Bernadette" to see more info.
