Pros: Brilliant acting, solid writing, and a great sense of honesty. Cons: Nothing.
It's hard to justify a position so bold, but I believe the short-lived NBC comedy-drama Freaks and Geeks is the most honest look at high school ever and in doing so it became one of the finest television shows ever. The two men to thank for that are ...

Pros: great show, funny, and so 80's Cons: none
Every season there are hundreds of new TV shows that come up. About 99 of them range from bad to terrible. But one of them stands out. Those are the shows that last at least half a dozen seasons. Sometimes the networks, for their corporate benefits, drop...

Pros: Acting, writing, direction, great cast, Joan Jett theme song Cons: It was cancelled.
Recently, I caught James Franco (Spider-Man 3) on "Live! with Regis and Kelly." Franco was plugging his new film (here, I'll help) "Flyboys." I nearly dropped my coffee when Kelly referenced the actor getting his start on the cancelled NBC underground ...

Pros: Good, solid acting and stories. Brings back memories of high school days. Cons: Only if they cancel it.
For those of you who clicked based on the title of this review, thank you. Sorry to be so in-your-face, but I think this is something worth saving.
For everybody out there who liked watching The Wonder Years, listen up! There's a (fairly) new...

Pros: Great writing, accurate descriptions Cons: None
Freaks and Geeks is one of those family comedy shows that doesn't capture you with the title or trailers that are shown on television. That may be why they were cancelled by NBC (but was more likely due to NBC's constant changing and postponing of...

Pros: highly entertaining Cons: none
These are more the terms that those of us who were actually in high school in 1980 would have used for the main characters in this one hour drama. NBC has a definite hit on their hands with Freaks and Geeks. This show is well written and wonderfully...

Pros: Incredibly funny, very human characters, clever, realistic. Cons: It got cancelled in it's first season while trash like "Popular" lives on.
I don't watch too much TV these days. It seems that everythin on anymore is just some bad sitcom with predictable plot lines, clicheed characters, sh*tty "feel good" moments, and a laugh track. Please shoot me.
"Freaks and Geeks" is different...

Pros: Realistic, touching, amusing Cons: Not the greatest acting, weak adult characters
When I watch Freaks and Geeks, I get the feeling that would appeal more to people who are well out of high school than it would to kids. This show has done a superb job of portraying the bittersweetness of the high-school experience. The...

Pros: very true to life, hilarious Cons: none
I'm a bit disappointed this was under the category teens and adolescents, and I, a full grown woman with kids, love it! What can I say? I feel like I'm a teenager again when I watch it.
It's set in 1980. I was watching and thinking that it had...

Pros: Funny, Nostalgic look at life in the 1980s Cons: Another victim of the "BE A HIT RIGHT NOW OR ELSE" Syndrome
Another of those "critically acclaimed but hardly watched" shows that fall by the wayside more and more every TV season. FREAKS AND GEEKS didn't get the respect from its network(NBC)that it truly deserve.
Ironically, in the past,...

Pros: Funny, Cool Cons: none
I love this show. Freaks and Geeks is funny, witty and brings you back down memory lane.
A show about life in high school and what it is like to be a freak or a geek. Popular and unpopular. It is mostly centered around two siblings Sam and...

Pros: hilarious, interesting, touching Cons: only had one season of glory
Freaks and Geeks was arguably one of the best tv shows on the air... until NBC decided to cancel it. Why did they have to cancel it? Not only was this show very entertaining, it was also hilarious, interesting, and thought-provoking for anyone who went...

Pros: Very good portrayal of High School in 1980 Cons: None!
Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I stumbled on the show Freaks and Geeks. After the first show I was hooked! I graduated in 1980 which is the premise of the show - school life and cliques in 1980. Although we called the groups Burnouts and Nerds -...

Pros: Characters who earn every ounce of your sympathy; perfectly true to life. Cons: "True to life" often means "hard to relive."
There are very few shows that have ever been (and dare I say, ever will be) on TV that truly succeed in striking an accurate emotional chord that echoes real life. Freaks and Geeks, at least for those of us who can identify with it, is one...

Pros: everything Cons: being cancelled
NBC gave up on this up and coming sitcom too early and cancelled what could have been a major money maker for them. They started it on Saturday nights at 8, and this is just a bad time for any television show. They finally moved it to Monday nights...
