Pros: Close to downtown Minneapolis Cons: Left my husband and daughter sleeping in a burning building!
During the two years we lived in South Dakota, we sometimes found country living, even in a college town, to be a little humdrum. And so, one October, we decided to drive to Minneapolis, five hours away, to see some of the sights there.
Pros: Fairly cheap. Had rooms available. Building seemed fairly stable. Cons: Not worth the price. Tiny room.
I have now been living on the east coast for over a year, but there are still things that I don't understand. Many of them (as I'll probably live somewhere on the east coast for the rest of my life) I suppose I'll never understand.
Pros: Low rates, Several Roadside Locations Cons: Small Ugly Rooms, cleanliness, Staff, No Food
In my series of opinions on different hotels around the U.S. I now come to one of the worst, EconoLodge. I've had the unfortunate displeasure of staying at EconoLodge three times in NY and PA. Each time the experience was awful and as they say three...
Pros: The higher the rate, the better the hotel, of course. Cons: Check it out before you make reservations!
First let me tell you that we have just stayed in 7 different motels/hotels in the past 10 days. Some have been good and some have been terrible! I'll begin with the good.
The second night into our trip to Kansas we stayed in an Econolodge...
No kidding. Back in July, we dared to take five teenagers to Hershey Park, PA to see the N'Sync Concert. Well, since I knew that this concert was SOLD OUT in less than 20 minutes...I decided in May that I'd better book us some rooms way in advance. I...
Pros: Accepts Pets, No Shortage of Econolodge Locations Around USA Cons: Accommodations in most locations mediocre and inconsistent at best
Econolodge is a name I thought little about prior to my recent cross-country move. When transplanting my little zoo (Rottweilers, cats, bird, fish, etc) and my "honey" from California to Massachusetts, I was quite concerned about obtaining...
Pros: It was better than a cardboard box. Cons: I left with nothing nice to say about the place.
I don't know where to begin. I was visiting a friend in Manchester, New Hampshire. Having never been there, I randomly and unknowingly chose the day to explore the town during their annual walk-a-thon/marathon (I don't know what it was.) Every street...
Pros: Close to what we came there for. You can see fireworks from Frederick Keys Stadium Cons: Stained and smelly bedclothes, rotten customer service
When you drive down the road and see an Econo Lodge and a "Bud's Notel Motel" you tend to choose the Econo Lodge because it is a large chain and you assume that there is some "governing body" backing up its accomodations and guaranteeing a decent night's...
Pros: clean rooms, many locations, good prices Cons: always check out the area first
I have stayed at more EconoLodge locations than I care to admit. For the most part, this chain is a good quality place to sleep when you are on a budget. But don't expect anything else - there are absolutely NO frills here! With a few notable...
Pros: Friendly front desk staff. Lowest price in town. Cons: Dirty, cracks in the door, odd smell to the room.
I recently had to travel to Daphne (located across the bay from Mobile), Alabama, for work. I had to book a hotel room at the last minute which I thought would be no problem given the out of the way location of the town. Unfortunately, there was an arts...
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, reasonably clean and roomy. Cheap. Cons: No frills, inconveniently located, a little run down.
I was in the process of moving countries, and needed a place to stay for about six weeks while awaiting the arrival of my domestic items from the UK. My mother, god bless her, got me a reservation at the Econo Lodge in her home-town of Macon Ga. Its ...
Pros: I'll never have to stay there again Cons: I wish someone had warned me about this place in advance!
We recently stayed at the Econo Lodge at the travel plaza in Willington, CT., which is just down the road from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. This motel used to be something else -- a Days Inn or a Comfort Inn -- and we stayed there about four ...
