Pros: convenient, (mostly) clean, quiet Cons:molto expensive, décor could use an update
Chicago may be the City with Big Shoulders, but the Fairmont Chicago would like to change that perception. Its what I think of as a BusinessLuxe Hotel one designed for business travelers but aiming at the high-end types among them. ...
Pros: Great food, good location, friendly staff Cons: Bland design, mediocre amenities combined with over-the-top extravagance
Shopping for a hotel online is a dangerous thing. It's easy for a hotel to dress itself up on a web page, and use photo editing software to make itself appear that it is something that it is not. In the case of the Fairmont Chicago, I got the ...
Pros: Elegant property at a reasonable price Cons: not walking distance to Michigan Ave
I think this hotel is a hidden gem in Chicago. It is located just a tad off the beaten path. By this I mean it's not centrally located right on Michigan Ave, it's just on the outskirts of what would be considered the prime hotel spots in Chicago. ...
Pros: Great service and atmosphere Cons: There are less expensive places to stay
The Fairmont Chicago is located next to Grant park in downtown Chicago. From the outside, the hotel is not very exciting. It blends in with the surrounding skyscrapers, it is just another building among buildings. The Fairmont distinguishes itself...
Pros: Great Hotel at Great Location Cons: Expensive
I have regularly stayed at the Palmer House Hilton and the Sheraton in Chicago. In my opinion, the Fairmont has them completely beat on almost all counts.
The rooms at the Fairmont are very spacious and comfortable. None are too far from the...
Pros: Large room, better than average bathtub Cons: furniture needs updating, carpet needs cleaning, location is not great, have to pay for coffee
I was disappointed with my stay at the Fairmont. I was expecting something special at the Fairmont and I don't feel like we got that. To begin with, the location of the hotel is not that good; its hidden back in a corner. Next, the room was nothing special it is larger than some of the other rooms I have stayed in, in Chicago but the furnishings needed updating and the carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced. The bathtub was nice but the setting was average and also needed some updating. Lastly, I was most disappointed with the way I felt at the hotel. Most of the 4 star hotels in Chicago will give you a little something extra like complimentary coffee in the mornings not the Fairmont nothing is complimentary here. If you want coffee you will pay $2.50 for it. I guess I just think its nice to feel appreciated especially when you pay a little extra to stay somewhere as apposed to feeling like your a wallet. I would not stay here again there are to many better choices in Chicago.
