Pros: It is darn good for a free magazine! Cons: no cons
Towards the end of my childbirth class, my instructor passed around a sheet and said if we wanted a free subscription to American Baby to sign up. In my sceptical mind, I thought, "this must not be a very good magazine if they are giving it...

Pros: none Cons: no facts to back up statements, propaganda galore
I read the June 2000 issue of "American Baby" and found it to be most disappointing, though not to my surprise. In the first few pages, I found an advertisement promoting the chicken pox vaccine. Don't we get enough propaganda from the...

Pros: You can get this magazine for Free. Had great information about early parenting in every issue. Cons: Sugarcoated presentations of childbirth. Since the ADS pay for this magazines they are often disguised as articles.
Why buy the leading baby magazines when AMERICAN BABY says it all for free? I have seen this magazine available in every Gyn office and most doctors offices and of course it is FREE for every expectant parent.
But how do they do it...ADS of...

Like most new parents, I received a free subscription to "American Baby" when I became pregnant with my son. While I really liked it at first, as I've progressed in my parenting career and become more educated on issues that concern me, I find...

Pros: a balance of information for expecting and new parents Cons: a lot of ads
I first want to say that my con listed is a good con. Sure, I hate advertisements as much as the rest of us do, but the magazine is free, meaning that those companies are paying for us to receive the magazine, so I will briefly acknowledge them. I still...

Pros: Cute baby pictures my toddler likes Cons: None, as long as you don't confuse ads with advice
I'd heard of American Baby before, but I don't normally buy parenting magazines so I'd never read it - until recently. I started receiving it free in the mail (along with a bunch of other parenting "stuff", thanks to Motherhood Maternity...
