Pros: Loads of useful Information; comparison testing of hardware Cons: Uneven; Primarily for businesspeople
I got my first year's subscription to this magazine for free (well, some frequent flyer miles, actually). I enjoyed it so much that I renewed for 2 more years. More recently I changed my mind and stopped my subscription.
Why I liked it: ...

Pros: Great for an intermediate user who actually likes computers! Cons: Subscription Price
I've been into computers for years, (started with an Atari 800!) knowing more than perhaps the average user, but a lot less than the pros. About a year ago, I got interested in purchasing a more powerful pc, and came across PC World. I had researched...

Pros: Easy to read and understand. Cons: Some recommended programs are very pricey.
As a subscriber of PCWorld since 1996, I must say this is the BEST Computer magazine out there.
When I first began reading PCWorld, I was a beginner at computers to say the least. All I knew how to do was turn it on and write reports for...

Pros: Good sections Cons: None
This magazine is very useful on all levels of computer users. Some of the best things that I like about it are the monthly question forum. People like you and me ask questions to computer tech people and they respond and tell about the problem and what...

Pros: Good use of color Cons: Bad columns and features, and you can find reviews on the internet
PC World has long been a major fixture in the print media world of computers. It contains many reviews of the newest hardware and software, as well as previews of upcoming similar gadgets, a variety of columns, and some well written feature articles. ...

Pros: Diverse content Cons: Ads, ads, ads
I got a subscription to this magazine for my birthday this year. So far I have been reasonably happy with what I have seen. Probably the most exciting thing is when the magazine comes in the mail because the cover is always vibrant and exclaiming some...

Pros: wide ranges of articles, good for most PC users Cons: hardcore techies may want more
I've seen lots of PC magazines that have the same "exclusive: how to get free stuff on the internet!" article every 6 months. Fortunately, PC World (PCW) isn't one of them.
Flip through the magazine, and you'll get to the news pages....

Pros: Wide range of coverage Cons: Too often lacks depth
PC World has a difficult row to hoe. It's not really a magazine for novices, it's not tech-y enough for the True Nerds who actually make this stuff work, it lacks the snarky wit of its rivals at Ziff-Davis, and often as not, the only really...

Pros: 65% of subscriptions or higher...occasionally has good articles Cons: Overload of sponsers ads, highly incomplete information especially about hardware and OS
I was offered a free trial subscription to PC World, by them. As the owner of a web presence provider company, its good business to keep abreast of such things (plus, I'm a mild computer geek myself), so I gave it a shot. Two issues later, I've...

Pros: price, CD-ROM, magazine, value for money Cons: ummm.....
Some people might think that computer magazines are for computer geeks and that if you tried to read them you wouldn't understand a word. Well, lets get things straight. Computer magazines are not easy to read but that does not make them impossible to...

Pros: Tips and News on new products Cons: Silly top 10 lists.
As others have said, PC World is not a pocket-protected geek-fest (not that there's anything wrong with that), nor is it filed under (fill in the blank) For Dummies. PC World treats their readers like they have operated a computer more than twice, but...
