Pros: Creative, some nice new versions of older songs Cons: Some of the songs feel like they were castrated. Bad medicine truly is bad medicine.
I was excited when I finally got a hold of this copy of Bon Jovis Greatest Hits nicely titled This Left Feels Right. Being a lefty I especially loved this title and was interested in hearing acoustic versions of old favorites. But to my dismay it ...
Pros: I like this version of It's My Life much better... Cons:Bad Medicine sounds like Robert Smith took over...
Part of me will always have a body part stuck in the hair band sound of the 80's. Poison, Nelson, Warrant, Cinderella, Whitesnake, Ratt - and of course - Bon Jovi, are just a few that remind me of my rambu ...
Pros: creative, imaginative, fresh Cons: wish there had been some better choices in the tracklist
If nothing else, Bon Jovi deserves some major kudos for having the balls to put out a record like This Left Feels Right. Taking many of their biggest hits, the band has re-worked each one acoustically. And when I say re-worked, I mean they've ...
Pros: It’s a reinvention, as far as my ears are concerned
Cons:Everyday, Born to be my baby, and Keep the faith are weaker than originals
Its been a while since I stopped listening to Bon Jovi. Well, sometimes I return to Keep the Faith, but really not often. I changed my mind about their early albums, wrote a two-star review of Slippery When Wet, received ...
Pros: Surprisingly intelligent reworked greatest hits Cons: It's still hair band music
I was an adult in the 1980s. I spent most of the decade like a lot of other yuppie adults of my generationgo to professional school, graduate from professional school, be a real-live professional, marry a professional, blah, blah, blah. When ...
Pros: Bad Medicine Cons: Olivia d'Abo is a really nice surprise!
If you are a die-hard Bon Jovi fan, or any other 80's band fan for that matter, like I am, then you must have this album. I am not the type of fan that loves everything a band puts out and must have it even if it is not good. I do not rush right out ...
Pros: An interesting idea Cons: An interesting, but not very good, idea
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m firmly of the opinion that everybody has one thing that they are good at, consequently, that is the thing they should do. Doing something completely different would make no sense, right? Now, consider if you will Bon ...
This album could of been better... by rock_dawg ,Nov 05 '03
Pros: It's My Life, Bed of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Always. Cons: Lack of time put into this release. Quality of most of the songs.
The highly anticipated Bon Jovi unplugged album lacks in just about everything.
The band incorporates a small string orchestra on this project which is nice on the ears but all together wasn't needed. The band also made a big mistake of putting their trust into a synthesizer, just when you think the band couldn't get anymore pop influenced they do.
If your looking for an acoustic album I wouldn't start here it has its highs and lows but in the long run this album is a big disappointment to what the band could of done.
To get a true acoustic feel I'd pick up Firehouse's Good Acoustics first which is better produced, recorded, and not rushed unlike this one.
I think Bon Jovi made this one for money and in the long run they will lose some of their fan base.
Pros: New sensual sound Cons: Can't listen w/ the kids around, it's a mom and dad alone time cd!!
I have been a Bon Jovi fan for more than half of my life, and being that I just turned 30- that is a long time. I was not too excited for a "re-mix" version of old songs when I found out about "This Left Feels Right"...but let me tell you...This left certainly feels right, more like wonderful, actually.
My first thought upon listening to the cd was wow!! "Wanted" sounds really great as a ballad (which we already knew since the guys play it live accoustically) but the rock riffs thrown in really got me going.
I had to stop the car in the drive thru line earlier today and tell my husband in the car behind me, "This is bedroom music" upon listening to "Bad Medicine", "Bad Name", and "Living on a Prayer".
This album is sensual to say the least. I plan on playing "Born to be my Baby" for my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary in a candle lit room...(hope the babysitter doesn't fall asleep!!)
Since I have grown up with Bon Jovi- I like hearing them in a "grown up" way too. Way to go guys!!
Bon Jovi show their Left is still Right by naomipain ,May 08 '04
Pros: The greatest hits can now reach a new audience . Cons: Some of the songs failed to meet the standard of their previous versions .
The bands new acoustic album was something that I was unsure about buying as I feel that artists are rarely successful in changing their music styles .
This however was a definite success as it showed the extent to which Bon Jovi could truly perform .
The music on this album was greatly dominated by the talent of Ritchie Sambora and allowed the well known rock band to reach a new audience in truly unique way .
