Pros: Lyrics, very catchy, instrumentation, first record in seven years Cons: Extremely poppy
I got into The Descendents a couple weeks ago when a friend of mine burned me a copy of his Everything Sucks CD. I loved Everything Sucks and it is practically glued inside my player. So, naturally, I went to the store and picked up whatever ...
Pros: Excellent vocals throughout, fantastic drum work and superb guitars. Cons: I'd be hard pushed to think of any.
The Descendents formed way back in 1978, as a Surf-Punk band in Hermosa Beach, California. It was not until 1982 that they would release their first ever album; 'Milo Goes To College' through New Alliance Records, an album which is still held in high ...
Pros: The Descendants still sound like the Descendants Cons: Milo is old and bitter...Buyer Beware
Some things, like wine, age well. Unfortunately, the Descendents clearly do not fit this category. This is not to say that this album is a complete waste. Compared to much of today's pop-punk, "Cool To Be You" clearly is not a bad album. However, if you ...
Pros: Solid album. Good riffs and sing-along tunes. Cons: "Anchor Grill" sounds tired. Same formula as Everything Sucks.
Having heard previous albums such as Everything Sucks and Enjoy, i decided to purchase this album. Is this the album going to live up to the pop-punk they've been known to produce over these many years? Opening up with "Talking", this track sounds ...
Yeah, this is pretty cool. by ringof_fire ,Mar 28 '04
Pros: 'Merican, Nothing With You Cons: Mass Nerder
I bought this album because I had 'Merican and it had gotten me really into the Descendents again. And so I bought it and went on a long drive, listening to it twice through, and one word to describe it would be, meh. Like, a good meh though. It's not terrible or anything. I rather liked it. There were some really great songs, like 'Merican, or Nothing With You. Talking and Cool to be You were pretty good. The song Mass Nerder got on my nerves. It was all about how Milo is so much smarter and not as punk as everyone else. Yeah, it's cool, that you went to college and majored in science and are so much smarter than everyone else, but the chorus is annoying. But other than that the album is good. Not the best, but not the worst either
