Pros: The piano, beautiful. The voice, hair-raising. The words, ingenious. Cons: Rumor has it that unrestrained, vividly expressed feelings aren't always easy to listen to.
Tori Amos was one of those artists I always imagined myself getting into eventually, but I never took the time to work at it. See, I'm a big procrastinator, and involving myself deeply into music is a process -- unfortunately, I ...
Pros: Great voice, Generally decent lyrics, Interesting overall sound Cons: Seriously frontloaded
There is something odd about going back to the things that we have memories about from our youth, but did not necessarily have. I have been listening to a lot of albums by Tori Amos lately and as I've listened to her popular breakthrough album "Little ...
Twenty-four hours ago I put this new-to-me CD on the changer, and it hasn't come off: a full 56 minutes, 54 seconds of musical Rolfing from the child prodigy love child of Laura Nyro and Tim Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Henry...
Pros: Very good lyrics, exceptional music, every song is masterful Cons: Are you kidding?
Whether you find her to be a gifted prodigy or a cryptic eccentric anyone who knows anything about music has to admit Tori Amos is a phenomenon. I realize this album has already received sixty plus reviews but I could not consider myself a music critic...
Pros: Astounding musicianship, frank lyricism, lots of variety Cons: Slightly dated production, harrowing mental images (though that's less a con and more a warning)
My Tori Amos obsession was an accident. Appropriately enough, it started with Little Earthquak ...
Pros: Very good songs for the most part. I enjoy this album a lot! Cons: The hooks are a bit weak; She copies Kate Bush while always coming up short.
(Disclaimer: Those looking for a brief description of the album will find what their looking for in the "Album Overview" section. The section titled "Detailed Track Discussion" is meant only for those who want to read detailed descriptions of ...
Pros: lyrically, her best album; great vocals; 3 classic songs Cons: none, really
I've been listening to Tori Amos constantly since December and I'm addicted to her. I just love her unique voice, sensual piano playing, and her lyrics when they make sense. So after two albums that I really enjoyed, I decided to get what people call ...
Pros: Every song is good! Cons: If you want perky, this is not for you.
Wielding words like swords and slashing at her past, Tori Amos sings through a range of emotions: anger, guilt, fear, defiance, pain, regret, and isolation. This is not a happy album, but with her beautiful voice, Tori builds to a kind of transcendence....
Pros: Stark emotional nakedness, consummate musicianship. Cons: Stark emotional nakedness?
To this early follower, Tori Amos would become a prodigal daughter who walked off to strange and faraway lands during her trek through the Nineties, after the critical and commercial success of her debut album, 'Little Earthquakes'. My cassette copy of ...
Pros: Emotionally powerful, some very stunning writing Cons: I'll get back to you on that
I find Tori Amos to be quite an enigma, and not always a pleasant one. A highly intelligent woman capable of writing songs that will echo through you for years, a woman with more talent in her little finger than Mariah, J.Lo and both of their posses...
Pros: Some great music with real emotion. Cons: The harrowing subject matter may be too much for some.
Tori Amos is one of the most revered artists of the past decade. But it took me a while before I got into her. I always liked her voice. But I never really listened that closely to her music or the words to her songs until one day when I heard "Crucify"....
Pros: Intimate, Involving, Unconventional Cons: "See Pros"
About Tori: Myra Ellen Amos, born August 22nd, 1963 in Newton, North Carolina began playing piano at the early age of just two, and started composing at four. She composed her first single under her real name "Myra Ellen ...
Pros: Beautiful melodies and meaningful, thoughtful lyrics Cons: A little difficult to listen to in places
Tori Amos is regarded by many as one of the most influential singer-songwriters to emerge from the 1990's. Her emotional, heartfelt and often humourous compositions are characteristically original and have the hallmarks of singer unrivalled in her field. ...
Tori Amos is the missing link between our conscious thoughts, and our deep, underlying feelings. Her piano is an outpouring of the soul, perfected by a lifetime of playing. Her voice ranges from shrill soprano to growling alto, and never fails to lend...
Pros: Stunning vocals, lyrics and piano playing. Cons: "Mother" is a drag, and "Me and a Gun" too painful to listen to.
After the deserved flop of her pop album Y Kant Tori Read, Tori Amos retreated into her shell and reacquainted herself with her piano, resulting in Little Earthquakes and a massive shift in style and content. Gone is the hairspray ...
Pros: Wonderful piano playing, emotional songs Cons: It's her only good album
I was first introduced to Tori Amos when she was interviewed for a news magazine show. I don't remember if it 60 Minutes or Dateline because it doesn't really matter. As I listened to Amos talk, I decided I had to buy this album.
Pros: Mind boggling words, wonderful music, and just a wonderful album! Cons: She didn't win a Grammy for it!
Every finger in the room is pointing at me…
That is how I felt when I first posted my epinion about Little Earthquakes. I realize now looking back that the post was horrible, and not what I have come to expect from other...
Don't ask me to listen to this album without getting leaky. You might just as well try to tell Forrest that life isn't like a box of chocolates. When I feel my soul is in need of a good old fashioned cleansing, this CD is one that I reach for, and the...
Pros: One of the finest voices in the business; inventive and emotional piano playing. Cons: Not a single thing wrong with this album. This is musical perfection.
I've been cruising the Epinions music site for several months now, and have regularly noticed that Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes is at the top of the most recommended album list.
Pros: profound lyrics that evoke emotions; Tori is just incredibly talented! Cons: none!
The first time heard a Tori Amos song was at a friend's poetry reading when I was in college. The reading was titled "As the Winter Takes One More Cherry Tree," which is a phrase from the song Girl. Before the reading, my...
Pros: excellent imagery, observations, music. Tori knows how to get to the listener's psyche. Cons: ever wonder if it's calculated?
There was a time when I would listen to every song on "Little Earthquakes" unable to move because I was so struck by the piercing truth of the lyrics, the way Tori sang (screamed) them, and the innocent white noise of the piano that...
Flashback to 1992 - I'm 17 years old. I'm just coming from my awkward teenage years, heading straight for my awkward adult years. I hear a voice over the radio one night, singing the very popular Nirvana song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. She sings with...
Pros: A variety of songs that are suprisingly good Cons: some of the lyrics
This was my first Tori album, so I didn't really know what to expect. All I knew is that various Web pages I'd visited had given me this name for several months now, and the samples on amazon.com didn't sound that bad. So I figured that I should give it...
Pros: Beautiful piano, inspiring and haunting vocals, stark and very passionate lyrics Cons: Not accessible to everyone, can be triggering.
In the summer of 1992, I was pondering my future. I was 18 years
old, getting ready to leave my small hometown for the thrill and excitement of college life a few hours away. I also had become influenced by my friends who already were in...
In the early 90s, Alternative rock was dominating the music scene by bringing back songs about honesty and other issues. Though the scene was dominated by all-male bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, there were some women artists breaking through and...
Pros: Beautiful vocals, fantastic lyrics and piano playing Cons: It ends
Some may dismiss Tori Amos as a flaky, fairy-loving, tree-hugging space cadet, but to do so is to neglect one of the greatest talents in modern music. Tori Amos creates music of great emotion and imagination that will touch every person with a heart(and...
Pros: It's a Tori album!! Is there anything else that needs to be said?!?! Cons: If you don't like her style, you will probably hate her music.
The first Tori album I ever heard or bought was Under the Pink (like not 'In the Pink'-get it!??!) and I still love it. But the first time I ever heard the Winter single off this album, I was moved to tears. It was a little while later...
Pros: A simply beautiful album Cons: May be too deep for some people
If I believed in such things as "desert island discs" (the answers to the question "What five CDs would you take to a desert island?"), this would be one of them. It got me hooked on Tori - actually, it was this CD that got me...
Pros: Wonderful vocals, poetry, and piano Cons: None
Tori uses her music to release stories and experiences of her life. Speaking from the soul Tori is an enchanting relief from the bubble gum songs of today.
This album features the well known "Me and a Gun" (the story of her rape), the hit...
The release of "Little Earthquakes" was probably one of the best things to happen to the music business at the time. A woman had taken the center stage with a supreme album, with the ability to rival anyone around her. Her own emotions were...
Pros: It's a masterpiece Cons: There are none, flawless work
Because they're all trying to figure out how Tori does it. How is it possible, that this wisp of a woman, this sprite, if you will, can elevate you to the heavens, and drag you down to the depths of despair, and leave you all the better for the...
Pros: A good, hardy meal when you're tired of the radio spoon feeding you sugar. Cons: She may have to grow on you at first.
To anyone who knows me personally, they know that I’m quite a big fan of Tori Amos. Her music has been a part of my life for quite sometime now and I feel the need to let people know about her.
Pros: A beautiful, emotional triumph Cons: Can't think of any offhand
In a time where the majority of the radio play was dedicated to either Seattle grunge leaders like Nirvana or ridiculous pop/rappers like Vanilla Ice, Tori Amos was probably the last thing people were expecting. Confessional and highly emotional female...
Pros: Brilliant catharsis and classic melodies Cons: The dodgy-looking sleeve art
Pardon the title above, but that about sums up the whole atmosphere of this dark, turbulent, and violently stormy debut album from Tori Amos. Scoff at her or love her to pieces, one can't deny that sex and religion are strange bedfellows with many...
Pros: Tori's equally beautiful voice and lyrics Cons: none!
Tori Amos is one of the most unique and honest artists I've ever heard, and Little Earthquakes, back from 1992, is an amazing album. Tori has a beautiful voice, great piano chops, and something (many things all twisted together, really) to say. Her...
Pros: Beautiful Piano, and voice, meaningful Lyrics Cons: A little Girlie, but thats not neccesarily a bad thing
I have never been a huge Tori Amos fan, but recently I was having a conversation with My sister and a friend and we were talking about what three cd's we would bring to a desert island if we could only select three, and we would be there for the rest of...
Pros: Intensely literate, virtuosic piano playing. Cons: A bit sprawling in places ("Mother").
Tori Amos, who had been a professional pianist since age 13, recorded Little Earthquakes in 1991 using mostly her own piano, though often accompanied by the usual rock backing of guitar, bass and (sometimes synthesised) drums.
Pros: Did you ever think music could move you like this? Cons: Nothing has topped this release. Yet.
Tori Amos. A musician who moves me in ways no other musician can. Her lyrics strike me down, and lift me up. They motivate me, and depress me. They make me think. They make me cry. They send my head spinning.
Pros: Every track on the album is perfect. Really. Cons: Inferior people may not appreciate Tori's intensity
know that my title is a bit extreme, but it's true. Of all the debut albums I've heard, none has ever come close to being as shocking or brilliant as this one. Debuts from Alicia Keys and Norah Jones may shake the Grammys, but this will shake your soul. ...
Pros: soothing music, interesting lyrics, you can listen to it again and again Cons: some may call it a bit feminist
I first heard this cd several years ago and did not like it. I bought it within the past year and have been playing it like crazy ever since. If you have heard a popular song by Tori Amos, whether on the radio or TV, then you will most likely love...
Pros: Beautiful songs that will stick in your head. Cons: She can be an acquired taste
The first time I ever heard Tori Amos I demanded my husband change the station. She was belting out a ballad that did make sense to me and I didn't care for her style of singing.
Well, that was about 6 years ago and now I am such a huge Tori...
I say "almost nothing" because supposedly, nothing is perfect. But "Little Earthquakes" comes pretty close, and in my opinion is the definitive album for Tori and the entire singer-songwriter genre.
Pros: beautiful piano, insightful lyrics, passion galore Cons: none that I can think of
This was the first Tori cd I ever bought. It hooked me like I've never been hooked to an artist before. Tori emotes so much raw feeling and passion on this cd that it is almost unbelievable. The range of songs is also amazing. I can honestly say that...
Pros: 11 out of 12 tracks! Cons: Tear in Your Hand
Okay, forget all of the incredibly weird things you've heard about Tori Amos. Forget the art in Boys For Pele. Forget the fact that the "popular" people think she's lame. She is the most incredible piano player that I have ever heard, and...
Pros: unique, honest, edgy with a feminine touch... Cons: not for those who like all the one hit wonders that have been hitting us in rapid succession...
Tori Amos is without a doubt one of the best singers to come out of a generation. Her voice rings with sincerity, depth, and beauty. I can appreciate Tori because with everything she sings, she relates to the people that listen to her. I also enjoy...
Pros: The intensity of the lyrics Cons: None--I loved every second
From the first note struck by the fingers of Tori herself, something begins to gently stroke the heart and mind, awakening the passions to come. A strong and comforting hand reaches out from her voice and, rather than pulling you into the music, pulls...
Pros: The lyrics, the piano, the melodys...Tori herself! Cons: Ummmmmm...I couldn't think of any!
About a year ago I was looking through my old CD's. Most of them were just commercial crap that I threw away instantly. But all of sudden I had Little earthquakes right in front of me. I had no clue how this CD sounded so I put it in my CD player and...I...
Pros: Great technique and lots of emotion. Cons: A bit sterile in places.
I first heard this album just months ago when a friend recommended it. Certain songs, such as "Silent All These Years," "Winter," and of course "Me and a Gun," literally took my breath away. Likewise, I simply could not manage to get into...
Pros: Lyrics like prose poetry, very catchy music, perceptive Cons: 1 or 2 draggers.
Let me start out by saying that I am not a Tori Amos fan. I own only one album by her. This is it. That being said, I think that this CD is absolutely great. Ms Amos does a wonderful job of nailing down the genre of 'teenage girl angst', and she...
Pros: Tori reveals her darkest secret through song. Cons: Triggering.
If you have ever survived a sexual assault of any kind, you will definitely relate to this album. I couldn't choose a time to play it, but when I feel down and bad about myself, I pop this one in.
Pros: A Wonderful collection of music Cons: Can't think of anything negative about it
I don't know what else to say but "wow" whenever I listen to Tori Amos' CD "Little Earthquakes." I am always amazed at the passion that she puts into her music, but this first CD shows that passion better than any of her other CDs....
Pros: A beautiful voice wrapped around some disturbing lyrics Cons: Can't think of one
Here's an original talent which appeared out of nowhere in the early 90s and produced by turns some of the most moving and disturbing music in years. "Little Earthquakes" is an emotional tour de force of a solo debut (let's ignore the...
This album is surely a tour de force. "Little Earthquakes is Tori's second album after "Y Can't Tori Read." "Little Earthquakes" was the beginning of a promising career from Amos.
Cruicfy-I think this single was amazing in the fact that it has...
I've had my copy of Little Earthquakes since it was first released. I've lost the cd liner, it's scratched beyond belief, but I will never, never, never get rid of this cd, not even after I buy a new one. I think I can truly say without exaggeration...
Pros: The best c.d. I own Cons: some people may not like her style
Ok so I have written two epinions on Tori? she is my all time favorite vocalist. My Tori loving days started with this album. "Little Earthquakes" in this reviewers opinion shaped how Tori was going to be perceived by the population and boy...
Little Earthquakes is amazing. The emotions aren't hidden. I loved every second of it.
Crucify-This song carried a message that we or others put one another down, but the truth is that we sometimes think we need to change for someone else's...
From the first few notes played on the first track "Crucify" to the last strains of "Little Earthquakes", I knew that I was hooked, and rightly so. Tori Amos's genius debut album may have been long overdue if we all had known what...
Pros: Passionate Honest Piano Driven Music That Strikes A Chord Within! Cons: Very passionate, it's going to move you (which I don't think is a con, but some prefer "light" music)
Little Earthquakes is an amazing sophomore effort by Tori Amos. Here she has her first album, Y Tori Kant Read, a collection of teased hair, pop/dance styled music written for the masses and then... comes Little Earthquake. This collection of piano and...
I bought this album after seeing the haunting redhead on MTV, back when MTV actually showed music. Well, at least they tended to show music really late at night.
This album was probably the most totally satisfying musical experience I've ever...
Pros: It is very meaningfull and gives a great perspective. Cons: Not really any.
Her songs are so sad, but her perspective is put into her music so beautifully that i cant resist buying every one of her CD's.
Little Earthquakes was made when Tori Amos was younger. She talked about her parents her childhood, and her view on...
Tori Amos is a woman who writes and plays from her heart. Since she is the writer of all of the songs on the Little Earthquakes album you know that each lyric means something from her life. The lyrics are so deep it takes time to realize what she is...
A lot of people are biased to say that this is automatically their favourite Tori album, b/c it's her first released album and all. I, however, disagree.
Now, granted, I do agree that this is her most emotional album effort. The lyrics in every song...
Pros: Vibrant album that is unlike anything else Cons: Angst could get to you.
Tori Amos' album, Little Earthquakes, is unlike any other album. This album is full of raw emotion, beautiful instrumentals, and Tori Amos proves that she has the voice of a siren.
Songs such as "Winter" and "China" portray images in your head...
Pros: leaves the ears singing along, especially the ones with feet Cons: NONE!
This album is one of my favorite Tori albums. Right up there with Under the Pink and Boys for Pele. It's an outpouring of her personal soul as she considers most of the songs directly from her personal experiences. Most noted is "Me and a...
Pros: diversity, strength, emotion, pain, reality, MUSICIANSHIP! Cons: she's so damn good, it makes me jealous!
Personally, as a vocalist myself, this is the best collection of diverse, vocally challenging, and emotionally stirring songs I have ever come across. Each song addresses either a pure emotion or a current issue that isn't easy to talk about. But Tori...
Pros: A heartfelt look at the world around us. Cons: Don't let anyone borrow it...you'll never get it back!
I bought this CD years ago mainly for the purpose of choosing 'Winter' as a lyrical song for figure skating...but it became much more to me. It became the very beginning of a 'relationship' I would develope with Tori Amos. Now, there is never a day...
Pros: lush lyrics, excellent support Cons: None. ^_^
I bought this album because a friend recommended it. I was a little frightened at first; Tori Amos' genre of music is *not* the genre of music I usually listen to... But after listening to the first song, I couldn't help but like it.
Pros: Emotional, she really can sing and play the piano, and it isn't pop Cons: Too depressing, angry, bashing, never has anything positive to say, possibly pretentious
I received this CD for my birthday, and I must admit that I enjoyed it, for the most part. It is nice to hear something from a female artist who is not just another bleach-head bimbo whoring herself on MTV who gets more attention for her cleavage then...
Pros: One of her best albums ever written. Cons: Deeply emotional.Passionate.
Tori always will be the master of piano in my opinion. My personal favorite song on the album is"leather""I could just pretend that you love me/The night would lose all sense of fear/But why do I need you to love me/When you can't hold what I hold...
Tear apart every part of tori's life and stick it in 10, 5 minute parts, you know what that equals? Little Earthquakes. She talks so beautifly and graficaly in her songs that you are actually there, experiencing what she has gone through even if you...
Pros: Perfect From Beginning to the End Cons: None
My sister bought this album when it came out and I quickly realized it was the most moving album I had heard since Kate Bush. Tori Amos has a way of writing and singing the most sad songs, yet the most haunting and intricate music. Her music makes...
Pros: Great lyrics, voice, and piano Cons: (?) A bit mellow at times, I suppose, but that's kind of the point.
This album was given to me as a gift by someone who is a huge fan of Tori Amos. I had never heard any of her music before, as she gets surprisingly little radio air play. Tori Amos has a rather rabid cult-esque group of loyal followers, and after a fair...
Pros: This is for anyone who enjoys the out of the ordinary singer with unbelievable talent Cons: If your not a female vocalist fan or only like hard stuff this isn't for you
I totally agree with you Kangaroo17. I was not a fan of Tori Amos until recently. My husband kept telling me that she was one of the greatest female artist out today and I wasn't sure then I listened to Little Earthquake and was just amazed and the...
Pros: Its Tori! Everything is a pro Cons: Its Tori? There are no Cons!
OK, this is Tori Amos's first CD, unless you count "Y Kant Tori Read?" Which is so hard to find that few have even heard it. But this CD is bye far her best! I have every CD of hers, from this one to hey Jupiter, all of them have special...
Pros: Piano skills, Lyrics, Vocal technueqe Cons: A little hard to understand
Tori Amos does it again with another emotionally relating heart touching album. With an amazing voice and unmatched hands, she spins off one fantastic song after another. In this album, It doesn't even seem like she has to try to be absolutely...
Why did I buy Little Earthquakes? I don't know really. I guess maybe because I wasn't paying for it and I said, "Hey, that Tori Amos chick ... I guess I'll see if she's any good." After all, it wasn't my money I was spending. I had a gift certificate....
Pros: Profound and beautiful-The best album ever? Cons: Are you kidding? :)
I first heard "Crucify" on the radio one morning, and immediately fell in love with the song. I had never heard anything like it, so I went out and bought "Little Earthquakes". This was the first album I was able to listen to all the way through...
Pros: wonderful songs Cons: some songs are very vivid, and not for children
Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos is an absolutely amazing breakthrough album. It was Tori Amos' first album release and helped acquire a substantial fan base. The reason for this is because the album is amazing. Besides the wonderful music that she...
Pros: Great Songs, pretty long play time Cons: none that I can think of
I am captivated by every song that Tori sings. Some more than others, but they all affect me in one way or another. This CD is the second one which really got my attention. I haven't been a fan for too many years, but I definitely have made up for lost...
Pros: Diverse, thought-provoking, melodic, open to interpretation Cons: It has to end!
All I can say is that this woman is talented. I've heard many people complain that she can't sing, or that her lyrics are full of nonsense. I'm sure if they took the time to really listen, they would feel the emotions. I'm not necessarily one to seek out...
Pros: powerful voice, style; terrifically self-empowering lyrics Cons: too dark and intense for some tastes
For at least a handful of Tori Amos fans, the question will always be: Y Kan’t Tori keep remaking Little Earthquakes – the 1991 record/revelation on which the henna-haired hellcat conclusively casts her pouffy-‘do’d Pat Benatar pretensions to the wind...
Pros: Intimate album that captures the true spirit of this talented songstress Cons: none!
Little Earthquakes was the first album of Tori's that I listened to, and let me just say that I was quite impressed. The talented songstress packs so much emotion into each and every song. She not only sings, but plays the piano in almost every song as...
Pros: an earthshattering musical journey that leaves you breathless Cons: you have to be the Tori type
tori amos is one of the most amazing musicians out there if you ask me. her song writing expertise is mind boggling, and her pieces are phenomenal. tori was the reason i took piano lessons again and this was the CD that did it. although her sound has...
Pros: Tori is one of the most incredible musicians to ever grace this planet and this album will show you exactly that. Cons: It ends.
For any Tori fan or just a true lover of GOOD music, this is the album to own.
Tori Amos is one of the most talented, beautiful and inspiring women I have ever seen and this album is without a doubt her #1 masterpiece.
Pros: Fabulous music Cons: Bit 'female' for most boys
In Britain, we Tori Amos fans are a bit of a rarity. Most people who've even heard of her dismiss her as a Kate Bush for the '90s. I have to admit that the only reason I bought "Little Earthquakes" was because I'd seen Tori perform...
Pros: The beginning of a great artist Cons: A little different, but ok
Everybody in music is scared to death of the "one hit wonder" and when he or she will strike again. With an album such as Little Earthquakes, one is assured that Tori will avoid this. Tori's sound is one that many people must get used to....
Pros: Amazing talent, good sound Cons: It could never be long enough! :)
Like many people, I always think you can tell how much you like a cd by how many songs you end up skipping. Well, I can honestly say that I do not skip a single song on this cd. I've played piano for 16 years (I'm 20), and I can tell you that Tori Amos...
Pros: An angry woman at her best Cons: What's not to love?
"Little Earthquakes" is my favorite Tori Amos cd that I own and I own them all. The power of her lyrics and her music gave me chills. Amos' songs are infused with the sounds of her pain and her joys and I can't get enough. She puts the...
Pros: beautiful lyrics and musical styling Cons: none
I love Tori Amos. Ever since I picked up this album in 1993 I have been entranced by her voice and have felt so in tune with her lyrics. Her music is haunting and beautiful. I was going through a divorce at the time and many of the songs on this album...
I got this album as a gift and it was one of the best presents I've ever gotten. I put it into my stereo and I left in there for over a month. If you want to buy a Tori album this is the one to get. This maybe her first but, it's my favorite one. The...
Pros: everything Cons: it's not "boys for pele":-)
this woman is kate bush on crack...and that's a VERY good thing. this is the most beautiful album i own. tori's piano skills are second only to her heartfelt lyrics. this album, among all of tori's others, is the most easily accessable. ["boys for...
Pros: Helps heal, and it is simply great. Cons: none at all.
Tori Amos is one of the best artists of all time. I have yet to hear any artist who puts as much feeling into their playing and singing, nor have I ever heard anyone put as many real life problems into the lyrics of their songs that people can relate...
Pros: everything about this cd is awesome Cons: none
This was the first Tori cd that I was introduced to. I remember the event vividly, we were at my friend Amber's house and we were listening to Happy Phantom and I was in awe. I had never heard this sound before or of Tori Amos and I instantly fell in...
Pros: beautiful songwriting Cons: this early album isn't completely consistent with tori's later style
Little Earthquakes is a perfect introduction to Tori Amos. After her short-lived hair-band release of Y Kant Tori Read, the songstress opened herself on her solo debut album. Tracks like "Silent All These Years", "Winter",...
Pros: powerful, stand-out lyrics. Cons: jarring at times, emotionally provoking
This album was recommended by several people that listened to Tori as a means of healing and release. Upon listening to it, I found that Tori had given me both words and music to move forward in dealing with personal issues. Tori's personal trials add to...
Pros: Great debut album Cons: For those who havent been raped and mabye even for those who have, Me And A Gun is not something just to sit around and listen to.
Tori Amos' debut album (for those of you that dont consider Y Kant Tori Read! Ha Ha!...Oh come on, who can forget Pirates, you like it and you know it:D). This is a fantastic album and with the exception of Me And A Gun (sorry people, cant relate) the...
I love this album. Tori Amos really broke a barrier in music when she released this.
The listener is inundated with a culmination of mysterious, lively sounds along with stream-of-consciousness lyrics that prove to have real jewels of...
tori amos' little earthquakes is one of those albums that should be in something like the top 100 albums of the decade, because every song on the album makes you want to listen to it over and over again. all the songs are different from each other; none...
I feel like Tori Amos is one of the best singer-songwriters in the business and love all of her albums. But the best album so far is Little Earthquakes. If you like music that has meaning, you must buy this album. She wrote everything on this album...
Pros: good songs a very meaningful album Cons: nothing
Tori Amos is an amazing pianist. She takes from her life experience and creates beautiful songs with it. All of her songs are full of hidden mean from her life such as when she was raped. She uses her position to help others deal with their problems....
Pros: Tori is a post feminist woman. This is the ultimate Tori CD. Cons: May offend your mother. Strong religious opinions expressed.
Tori Amos is an artist that appeals to the post feminist gals who know they are more than their looks, but like to put on their cute new skirt and go out anyway. She is sensual, thought provoking, and religiously jaded and never apologizes for it in her...
Pros: staring up at the ground Cons: oh how he tried, and oh how she lied
Oh how I wish that this album didn't exist. Wouldn't that be strange though because then I'd never have any idea that it ever did exist. A weird sci-fi paradox for ya.
Tori Amos is the seismic-queen for sure, but I can't imagine a title more...
Ultimate Tori Experience by spotlightkat ,Feb 26 '06
Pros: Every song on the album is GREAT! Cons: The fact that you don't already own it!
This is Tori Amos's first "successful" album. This is also her best album to date. The music is harmonuous, seductive, and inspiring. Each song is written about parts of her life. This is a great album to listen to in a bubble bath with lit candles and a glass of wine. There is no Best song as they are all great! Tori Amos is a Musical Fairy Goddess.
