"Kerosene Hat" is hot.

by lambchops, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jul 18 '01
Pros: Fun songs, southern rock, alternative rock, and blues!
Cons: A bit repetitive at times, "Lonesome Johnny Blues"
Cracker snuck briefly onto the music scene with this 1993 release of "Kerosene Hat." Most people don't remember this album or the band for that matter. But, alas, it's got an alphabetically organized slot in my CD collection. Why you ask? Well, there...

The Holy Trinity, Part 2: Kerosene Hat Sets Me On Fire

by shilmafone Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 04 '03
Pros: Rocks out on a regular basis, and a sense of humor to match
Cons: Country leanings a bit too much for some

A sloppy, noisy mess

by HawgWyld Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 02 '01
Pros: Big ol' guitar hooks, strained vocals, noisy songs and lots of fun.
Cons: The "hidden" songs idea was terrible!
This album was the first and only "big" hit for Cracker. That band was formed after Camper Van Beethoven split up and frontman David Lowery needed something to do with his time. Cracker has always reminded me a heck of a lot of Camper Van Beethoven, only...

I want Everything

by orbitcom , Mar 30 '00
Pros: Dramatic
Cons: Some Songs SUCK!
A band of the Golden Age. Where I feel like I used to. I was given this album by my brother Jeremy, back in the day. Well I ended up with it somehow. It has some very fond memories of the times back then. It sure was a time of my life which set an impact...

Good Album

by willtt_sean , Dec 10 '99
Pros: Tracks 2,3,5,7,9,10 and 11
Cons: It is not the first album
The CD Cracker Brand(1992) is by far this groups best album and if you were to get just one album by Cracker it would be that one. Kerosene Hat is an excellent follow up to the first album, it continues the funny lyrics mixed with a strong guitar....
